2009 Tentative AYOP

2009 Tentative AYOP

South Bend, IN

This year, due to renovations to the Notre Dame Arena and surrounding gyms, the competition will be held at the University of Notre Dame in the Field House and Aux Gym, as well as the gymnasiums at Indiana University in South Bend. The two venues are reported to be only a couple of miles apart. Here are some important notes about Nationals 2009:

  • Only events that concern the Twirl-M’s are listed within..
  • Please let me know if you wish to enter an event not listed. I’ll tell you the tentative times.
  • Team Loud and Team Rhythm will be combined to make one team. This, in order so that our 11 girls total can compete in the Junior Large event and NOT against one another in the Junior Small event. The Rhythm costume will be the costume for this new team (called MUSIC), which will also have a new piece of music. Costuming and other info will be given out in the near future.
  • There will be a mandatory practice for Team Jazz at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21st at Indiana State University in South Bend.
  • Team Jazz members must be prepared to stay through Friday, July 24th. It is my understanding that if Team Jazz wins 1st then we will have the honor of performing for the Grand National Show Corps awards at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 24th. Wouldn’t that be fun!!!???!!!
  • Team Music and Team Popular have a mandatory practice at 7:25 a.m. on Wed., July 22nd at Indiana University, South Bend.!
  • Due to limited time and space, the flag competition for AYOP has been cancelled this year.
