About Rising Stars Athletics

Rising Stars Athletics was founded in Palm BeachCounty. The focus of this organization is to provide athletic opportunities for our youth. It is our belief that athletics provide an avenue for youth to develop character that will enable them to be a success not only on the field of play but in the game of life.

CampGoal

To provide an environment for young student athletes to develop the fundamental skills and mental concepts which will enable them to be competitive and successful throughout their athletic career.

This will be accomplished by teaching sound fundamental techniques instructed by qualified coaches.

Uniforms:

  1. Team will have home and away jersey
  2. Shorts without pocket

Game Field:

  1. 40 yds. Long with 10 yd end zones
  2. 20 yd. line marked for first down

Game Play:

  1. Safety is paramount. The rules will be enforced to promote safe play and encourage sportsmanship. Goal is to limit contact.
  2. Only one initial jam is permitted while the receiver is breaking from the line of scrimmage. Remember the goal is to limit contact.
  3. One first down possible when a team crosses the 20 yd line.
  4. If a team is held for 4 downs; defense takes over; ball is placed on the 40
  5. QB has 4 seconds to throw the ball. Ball must be released from hand
  6. A fumble or muffed snap is marked down at that spot and the down counts. A fumble in the field of play is marked down at the spot.
  7. QB can start from center or shotgun position. Ball must be lifted directly from the tee.
  8. When a receiver is touched with one hand he is down at that spot. Likewise if a receiver is contacted by the defensive player while airborne, and he maintains possession, he is ruled down at that spot.
  9. Penalties are 5 yards. Sportsmanship penalties will result in a 5 minute or 10 minute mandatory period where the offending player/players Must Sit Out of the contest. A second Sportsmanship penalty by a player will result in an ejection for the remainder of the tournament. DefensivePass interference: 5 yds/automatic first down. OffensivePass interference: 5 yds/loss of down
  10. On a change of possession, the ball will be brought back to the 40 yard line.
  11. Timing Factors (all games leading up to the final gameon Saturday will be timed this way): 25 minute game. 23 minute running clock. Final Two minutes: clock stops for the first down, change of possession including scores, out of bounds and incompletes passes. Teams will be given One time out per game.

  13. Continuous clock Two, 20 minutes halves, with 5 minute halftime
  14. Clock will stop during last 2 minutes
  15. Each team gets 1 time out per half (1 min.)
  16. If the team is up by 3 touchdowns at the 2:00 mark of the second half, the game is over.
  17. There is a 25 second play clock

Scoring

Offensive: 6 pts for touchdown

Extra point: 1 pt from the 5 yd line, 2 pts from the 10 yd line.

Defense: 1pt for a knockdown (must be a clear breakup)

1 pt for a coverage sack (QB does not release ball before 4 seconds)

2 pts for interception on scrimmage play

Extra point: 2 pt for interception if try is for 2 from the 10 yd line.

1 pt for interception if try for 1 from the 5 yd line.
