2009 JFA and JAY FAMILY REUNION

The Jay Family Association has scheduled its annual reunion for Friday through Saturday, October16 &17 in Troy, Ohio. There will be a full day of activities at a variety of historic locations on Friday. Saturday will bring a few Jay Family presentations, photo sharing, visiting and meeting new cousins. The reunion which is sponsored by the Jay Family Association is open to all Jay family descendants, allied family members and anyone else who has a love for family history and a great time! A complete agenda of activities is posted below.

The Fairfield Inn in Troy, OH has blocked 20 rooms at special rates of $79.95 plus tax for rooms with two queens or one king. A big breakfast and high speed internet is included at that rate. Reserve as soon as possible, no later than September 16, 2009.

October 15, 2009 - Thursday Evening

6:30 PM– Informal Dining at Ruby Tuesday’s next to Hotel for those who have arrived and wish to visit

October 16, 2009 – Friday

***Due to possible weather and other constraints, the order of the Burial Ground visits may be slightly altered. If you are attending Friday’s tours you should begin with us at the Fairfield Inn in Troy***

6:30 – 9:00 AM– Breakfast at the Fairfield Inn in Troy, OH

9:00 – 10:00 AM– Registration and Welcome at the Residence Inn Meeting Room (adjacent to the Fairfield Inn)

10:00 AM- Caravan to Mill Creek Friends Burial Ground, near Frederick, OH

10:20 - 11:15 AM- Tour Mill Creek Friends Burial Ground near Frederick, OH

11:15 AM- Depart for West Branch Meeting House and Burial Ground, West Milton, OH

11:25 - 12:15- Tour West Branch Meeting House and Burial Ground, West Milton, OH

12:15 - 1:00 PM- Lunch on the grounds at West Branch sponsored by the JFA

1:00 PM- Depart for Old Union Friends Burial Ground, near Ludlow Falls, OH

1:20 - 2:30 PM- Tour Old Union Burial Ground

3:00 – 5:00 PM- Free Time for shopping, sight seeing or visiting with cousins

7:00 – 11:00 PM- Meeting Room available at the Residence Inn (adjacent to the Fairfield Inn) for visiting with cousins, sharing genealogy, data, etc. JFA Business Meeting. A scanner and copy machine will be available

October 17, 2009 – Saturday

6:30 – 9:00 AM- Breakfast at the Fairfield Inn in Troy, OH

9:10 AM- Leave for the Brukner Nature Center, west of the hotel, link for map

9:30 – 10:30 AM- Registration, Visiting and Welcome at the Heidelberg Auditorium, Brukner Nature Center

10:30 – 11:30 AM- Presentation – Ohio and Indiana Quaker Traditions and Life

11:30 – 1:30- Lunch at the Brukner Center sponsored by the JFA, time for touring the 1804 Iddings cabin on the grounds

1:30 – 2:30 PM- JAY DNA Project Update

2:30 – 3:30 PM- Family visiting, photo sharing and story telling! Scanner will be available.

3:30 – 4:30 PM- JAY Family migrations out of South Carolina

4:30 PM- Adjourn
