Comment/Story #1: MAINTENANCE WORKER

My summer job placement was in the Maintenance Department for the Diana Indian Band. I found that coming to work everyday on time and completing my work made me feel better about myself and it proved to me that I could get a job in the future. I especially enjoyed carpentry and would like to take more courses in this field. I learned new skills such as preparing surfaces for painting and different painting techniques.

Comment/Story #2: SUMMER CAMP ASSISTANT

My summer job placement was the Jackson Summer Camp in the community of Westlake, BC. I found my work experience rewarding as I worked with children and learned how to organize summer activities that were fun and exciting. My work experience training gave me insight into a specific career path. I want to explore early childhood education in order to work in a daycare centre for children.
