2015 Eligibility Guidelines

The 2015 Melrose Arts Festival will accept Fine Art and Fine Craft in all media including painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, drawing, assemblage/mixed media, wood, clay, metal and glass.

All work must be handmade and the original design of the artist. Not acceptable are items made from commercial kits, commercially available purchased parts, molds, stencils, patterns or imports. Purchased beads in jewelry may be included only when used to accent a piece of the jewelers own design and execution or used in a way that transforms the material, such as bead weaving.

Photomechanical reproductions of an artist’s original work must be labeled as such and not constitute more than 25% of the exhibitors display.

MELROSEARTS reserves the right to ask any exhibitor to change or amend their display if it does not conform to guidelines or is not of equal quality to images submitted for jury review.

There will be a $150 fee to exhibit plus a $20 non-refundable application fee. Send only the $20 fee with application; the $150. Payment will be made after acceptance into the show.
Show set-up will be Friday, April 24th between 2-5 PM. Our committee will provide display racks consisting of three connected panel’s 37” x 6’ each for a total of 111 horizontal inches, lighting and two chairs

The Friday Preview Party will begin at 7:00 PM at Memorial Hall located at 590 Main St., Melrose. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to sell their works throughout the evening and the entire weekend.

NEW: SEND 3 DIGITAL IMAGES IN JPEG FORM OF YOUR WORK TO:

IDENTIFY EACH IMAGE WITH MEDIUM, SIZE, AND DESCRIPTION. THESE IMAGES SHOULD BE ONES THAT BEST REPRESENT THE STYLE OF WORK YOU PLAN TO EXHIBIT.

PRINT AND MAIL THIS APPLICATION BY DECEMBER 15TH ALONG WITH YOUR NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE OF $20. TO: DEBRA CORBETT, 28 HOLLAND RD., MELROSE, MA. 02176

MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO : “MELROSE ARTS” .

This is a juried show and the fee for all three days is $150. Please include ONLY the $20. fee with your application.

Acceptance status notification the end January of 2015.Accepted exhibitors will be asked to send the $150. fee at that time.

As a participant I have read and agree to the following statement: No responsibility for loss or damage of any artwork or display in the festival is assumed by the festival. As a nonprofit organization, we cannot be responsible for insuring artwork during exhibit. Every care and consideration will be taken by MELROSEARTS to keep Memorial Hall secure, and the Melrose police will be aware of the show and will be present during the show hours. If you require insurance coverage, you may wish to insure your work through a rider on your homeowner’s policy. The right is reserved to request removal of any work that differs significantly from the submitted samples of the artist’s work as well as any inappropriate work or display.
