A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE DR. CELESTE A. PRINGLE, GEORGETOWN COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR LEARNING AND SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT, ON RECEIVING THE PRESTIGIOUS WILLIAM B. HARTLEY ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS.

Whereas, in recognition of her many outstanding contributions to education, Dr. Celeste A. Pringle, Georgetown County School District assistant superintendent for learning and school improvement, has been named a winner of the prestigious William B. Hartley Administrator of the Year award; and

Whereas, granted to three education administrators each year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators, the Hartley award recognizes the lifetime achievements of veteran administrators; and

Whereas, Dr. Pringle, who credits her success to teamwork and support from her family, friends, staff, and church, has spent most of her professional career working to educate children in Georgetown County and is an example of what it is to teach for life, not just for a living; and

Whereas, along with the other two award recipients, she will receive a fifteen hundreddollar prize presented by the R.L. Bryan Company, as well as a complimentary ring from the HerffJones Company, to commemorate the occasion; and

Whereas, in addition, Dr. Pringle will be recognized in Columbia at an awards ceremony to be held on June 18, 2008; and

Whereas, it is with great pride and gratitude that the Senate honors Dr. Celeste A. Pringle for her outstanding leadership and exemplary work in education, and the members wish her much happiness and continued success in the years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Dr. Celeste A. Pringle, Georgetown County School District assistant superintendent for learning and school improvement, on receiving the prestigious William B. Hartley Administrator of the Year award from the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Celeste A. Pringle.
