A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND AND RECOGNIZE PASTOR GLENN R. PLUMMER FOR HIS UNDYING COMMITMENT TO CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING AND FOR THE EXTRAORDINARY EXAMPLE HE SETS AS A LEADER IN THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY.
Whereas, an ordained minister since 1979, Pastor Plummer has been integral to the success and furtherance of Christian television programming, as Chief Executive Officer of WLPCTV26 in Detroit, Michigan, and WLPNTV61 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and also founding the Christian Television Network; and
Whereas, a devoted husband and father of five children, Pastor Plummer attended Northern Michigan University and Brooklyn College, majoring in personnel management, and also attended William Tyndale Bible College in Detroit, Michigan; and
Whereas, hosting a number of national television programs throughout his career, he has spread his message of hope and abiding love to a national audience, and has also taught and worshipped with his local audience as senior pastor of Ambassadors for Christ Church in Detroit, Michigan; and
Whereas, recently stepping down from his threeandahalf year term as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Religious Broadcasters, Pastor Plummer was the first AfricanAmerican in the history of the organization to hold that position; and
Whereas, during his chairmanship of the National Religious Broadcasters, Pastor Plummer was able to meet with President George W. Bush on many occasions, praying with him and ultimately advising the President on how and why he should openly share his personal salvation testimony; and
Whereas, a prolific Bible teacher, Pastor Plummer has shared his faith as keynote speaker at countless events, and has preached and facilitated workshops at various conferences, community events, and political gatherings; and
Whereas, awarded the 2004 Tourism Ambassador Award by the Israel Ministry of Tourism in February 2005, Pastor Plummer has even garnered international acclaim for his service. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and recognize Pastor Glenn R. Plummer for his undying commitment to Christian broadcasting and for the extraordinary example he sets as a leader of the Christian community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Pastor Glenn R. Plummer of Ambassadors for Christ Church in Detroit, Michigan.
