A HOUSE RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING MRS. VIRGINIA JOHNSON OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF MOTHER’S DAY FOR HER EXCEPTIONAL DEVOTION TO HER CHURCH, FAMILY, AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Mrs. Virginia Johnson of Richland County is a graduate of C. A. Johnson High School, and attended Benedict College; and

Whereas, she is the mother of two children, has three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, and three great stepgrandchildren; and

Whereas, Mrs. Johnson has been an active member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church for more than sixty years where she is a member of the Senior Missionary, Elderly Ministry, a past member of the Musical Choir, and past vice present of Ruth Circle; and

Whereas, she retired from employment with the Department of Mental Health in 1986 with thirty years of dedicated service to the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Mrs. Johnson is vice president of the Blythewood Community Club, likes to travel and enjoys sharing with and caring for her many family members and friends; and

Whereas, she advises all persons who she knows and meets to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the House of Representatives to recognize Mrs. Virginia Johnson on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend Mrs. Virginia Johnson of Richland County on the occasion of Mother’s Day for exceptional devotion to her church, family, and friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Virginia Johnson.
