A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND MS. KAROL GAIL REMBERT OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR DEVOTING THIRTYFOUR YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA AS A SOCIAL WORKER UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AND TO EXTEND TO HER EVERY BEST WISH FOR A HAPPY AND ENJOYABLE RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Ms. Karol Gail Rembert was born on March 13, 1948, in Manhattan, New York, the daughter of Bishop Sanco K. and Carrie M. Rembert; and

Whereas, she received her undergraduate degree from Claflin University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, she is a member of the New Israel Reformed Episcopal Church in Charleston and Francis Burns United Methodist Church in Columbia; and

Whereas, Ms. Rembert is an active member of a number of service organizations which include Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, the Council on Aging, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the American Diabetes Association; and

Whereas, Ms. Rembert was initially employed by the Medical University of South Carolina from 1970 to 1973; and

Whereas, since 1975 she has been employed by the Department of Health and Environmental Control as a social worker; and

Whereas, on May 30th she will retire as a social worker supervisor with the Palmetto Health District of the Department of Health and Environmental Control, after working in a variety of areas including home health services direct patient care, clinicbased services, and as a supervisor of several program areas; and

Whereas, seldom has a public employee given more to her State and community than has Ms. Karol Gail Rembert; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and thank Ms. Rembert for her contributions to our State on the occasion of her retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend Ms. Karol Gail Rembert of Richland County for thirtyfour years of service as a social worker for the State of South Carolina upon the occasion of her retirement and extend to her every best wish for a happy and enjoyable retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Ms. Karol Gail Rembert.
