A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE 2003 CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING SQUAD AND COACH VICKI WILLIAMS ON WINNING THE 2003 CLASS AA STATE CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO COMMEND THEM ON THEIR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives were pleased to learn that the Chapin High School cheerleading squad won the Class AA State Championship in November 2003; and
Whereas, the Chapin Eagles under the highly effective leadership of Coach Vicki Williams have continued their tradition of excellence in competitive cheering as one of the best teams in the Palmetto State in recent years; and
Whereas, the road to the state championship title in cheering was highly competitive as the Chapin Eagles competed against twelve other Class AA cheering squads before capturing the championship trophy; and
Whereas, to become a championship cheerleading squad, all members of the squad must have outstanding leadership and physical abilities as well as rhythmic talent and coordination; and
Whereas, the members of this championship cheerleading squad include Emma Bradshaw, captain; Erica Peace, co-captain; Nickie Callahan, Lacey Canada, Kristen Carson, Sarah Christmus, August Darnell, Afton Ellison, Braden Hancock, Stephanie Haney, Lauren Huddle, Ashley Kirkpatrick, Whitney Lester, Melissa McNeillie, Lauren Monroe, Mellisa O’Connor, Amanda Senn, Leah Speed, Myesha Stack, Mallory Stokes, Megan Williams, Shannon Whitehead, and Amanda Wrigley; and
Whereas, with the support of family, friends, and community, this energetic and talented group of young women, through their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments this season has brought recognition and credit not only upon themselves and Chapin High School but also upon Lexington-Richland School District 5; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to congratulate the Chapin High School cheerleading squad for winning this well-deserved state championship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the members of the 2003 Chapin High School cheerleading squad and Coach Vicki Williams on winning the 2003 Class AA State Cheerleading Championship and commend them on their hard work and dedication.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Principal of Chapin High School and Coach Vicki Williams.
