A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MR. AND MRS. SANK L. ANDERSON, OF RICHLAND COUNTY, ON CELEBRATING THEIR FIFTYSIXTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON MAY 27, 2002.

Whereas, with great pride and admiration, the members of the General Assembly have been informed that Sank L. and Rufine Anderson will celebrate their fiftysixth wedding anniversary on May 27, 2002; and

Whereas, Mr. Anderson, born on October 3, 1919, the son of Noland and Julia Anderson, is a Senior Deacon at Zion Pilgrim Baptist Church and a retired brick mason who worked more than thirtyfive years on construction projects in South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.; and

Whereas, Mrs. Anderson was born on September 26, 1928, the sixth of twelve children born to Isaac and Fernell Cook, has served in many capacities throughout her life which include housewife, seamstress, public school chef, volunteer for the Department of Social Services, employee of the Voter Registration Board, and voting precinct poll manager; and

Whereas, Mrs. Anderson enjoys gardening, fishing, and helping people in her community and is a member of the South Carolina Association of Taxpayers and a member of the Cedar Creek Area Landowners Association; and

Whereas, Mrs. Anderson is a member of Cedar Creek AME Church where she serves as a Steward, and has served on the Usher Board and as Church Clerk; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson have resided in Richland County at 2325 Bookman Loop for more than fiftytwo years, are the proud parents of four children and have twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren; and

Whereas, the Anderson’s strong morals and Christian values have been wonderful examples to their children, their children’s families, and all their many friends and acquaintances; and

Whereas, the strength of their union is a true example of commitment, devotion, Christian love, faith, and endurance; and

Whereas, their innumerable friends and relatives respect, admire, and love them deeply for their outstanding qualities and exemplary deeds; and

Whereas, by this resolution, we honor the true meaning of marriage when we recognize Sank L. and Rufine Anderson. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Sank L. Anderson of Richland County on celebrating their fiftysixth wedding anniversary on May 27, 2002.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. and Mrs. Sank L. Anderson.
