A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND DR. FRANK G. ROBERSON FOR HIS OUTSTANDING WORK AS A SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR AND TO EXPRESS THE SINCERE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR DR. ROBERSON’S TIRELESS EFFORTS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS IN SOUTH CAROLINA WITH THE BEST POSSIBLE EDUCATION.

Whereas, Dr. Frank G. Roberson currently serves as an Associate Superintendent for Aiken County public schools where he supervises the Division of Instructional Services, covering an extensive number of programs and departments; and

Whereas, in his work overseeing the Instructional Services division, Dr. Roberson deals with a variety of school needs and activities including General Educational Services for grades preK through twelve, Educational Accountability, Community Services, Testing, Summer and Afterschool programs, and Guidance Services; and

Whereas, Dr. Roberson has many notable accomplishments as a professional educator; he designed a grouping structure that maximized teacher instructional effectiveness and accelerated student learning in a historically underperforming, high poverty school; teacher assessments and the state’s first report card both reflected positive results within the first year that the school implemented the program; and

Whereas, the extent of Dr. Roberson’s initiative and commitment to education is not confined to the walls of a school building; he designed and organized a communitybased reading program that teaches parents reading techniques that they can use to assist their own children who are learning to read; and

Whereas, because of his extraordinary gift for relating to people and sharing ideas, Dr. Roberson makes frequent appearances as a keynote speaker and guest lecturer on educationrelated issues, speaking to audiences of children and adults; he also serves as an advisor to several elected and nonelected public officials on matters dealing with education; and

Whereas, Dr. Roberson understands the high cost of a quality education, and through his work with and donations to scholarship foundations he has helped many students meet financial obligations and make their dreams of attending college come true; and

Whereas, Dr. Roberson’s vision of providing education is one in which no child is left out and in this regard, he conducts free, private sessions with students and their parents to discuss ways to meet the challenges of academic requirements; and

Whereas, not enough can be said about the improvements and contributions that Dr. Roberson has made to public schools in Aiken, and his remarkable efforts to encourage learning among students of all ages are unsurpassed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Dr. Frank G. Roberson for his outstanding work as a school administrator and express their sincere appreciation for Dr. Roberson’s tireless efforts to provide students in South Carolina with the best possible education.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Frank G. Roberson of Aiken County.
