200 ft. Articulating Aerial w/ 8x6 Front Drive Axle

Dear Offeror:

This notice shall serve as Addendum No. 1 to the aforementioned Request for Proposal (“RFP”) and shall for all purposes become part of the original RFP. This Addendum must be included in your Proposal Submittal to the LCRA by the proposal submittal date.

Please note the following notifications, clarifications, questions and answers:

DUE DATE HAS BEEN EXTEND 1 WEEK, PROPOSALS ARE NOW DUE ON OCTOBER 11TH 2016 NO LATER THAN 3:30 PM CST.

Question 1: In the chassis section states the suspension to be a walking beam then under the rear suspension section it asks for an air ride suspension. Which is required walking beam or air ride suspension?

LCRA: Does not need to be air suspension.

Question 2: In the chassis section states a tandem axles rated for 42,000 then under the rear suspension section it states a “Driver Controlled traction differential on all Tri-Dem rear Axles”. Is the rear axle group a tandem or tridem?

LCRA: Either one, but it must meet weight requirements – looking for driver controlled traction functionality.

Question 3: In the Front suspension and steer axle, “Stabilizer Bar Front Axle/Rear Axle”. Are they asking for torsion bars? These are not required on large aerials due to the unit needs to have the tires off the ground during operation, please clarify?

LCRA: Not Required

Question 4: In the Wheel and Tires, “include (1) spare for each different size”. Is it required to provide a wheel/tire spare for each different wheel bolt pattern or wheel offset?

LCRA: Need to have a spare for steer axles.

Question 5: In the General Specifications section, need a detailed description for the “Transmission Service Line Body”.

LCRA: Flat Platform Style

Question 6: In the General Specifications section states “Material Handling Capacity of 750 lbs.” then in the Required Features section is states “Hydraulically Extendable and Articulating Jib 500lb”. Please clarify hydraulic operation and capacity?

LCRA: Fixed Place Jib with Min 750lb

Question 7: In the Required Features section states “Tool Circuits at rear of unit”. Need to know how many tool connections are required?

LCRA: 1 tool circuit

Question 8: In the Required Features section states “Outrigger Controls accessible with clear view of both sides of unit”. Please clarify?

LCRA: Outriggers need to visible from operators controls while operating.

Question 9: In the Required Features section states “Grounding Cable and Loop Kit”. Need to know the length and gauge of the grounding cable required and description of the “Loop Kit”.

LCRA: Standard grounding cable reel

Question 10: In the Required Features section states “Boom Design ANSI Category A 500Kv”. Does the customer require the boom to be independently lab certified for bare hand work?

LCRA: Not needed

Specification Revisions: The following item are no longer a requirement.

Line 48 of the specification: Rear Bumper Mounted 2 ½ receiver hitch 16,000 pound rating

LCRA: Not needed

Line 59 (under miscellaneous items): Both 6 & 7 Pole flush mount trailer connector(s) at rear bumper

LCRA: Not needed

Line 60 (under miscellaneous items): Eye bolt at rear for breakaway cable

LCRA: Not needed

Line 62 (Under miscellaneous items): Trailer connections – Full truck and trailer control valves for trailer brakes with glad hands mounted at rear of frame

LCRA: Not needed

Line 90 (under required features): Boom design ANSI Category A 500kV – All indications are for a non-insulated aerial work platform. Please clarify insulated or non-insulated.

LCRA: Non-insulated

LCRA will be trading in a unit upon purchase of new aerial.

The following unit will be available for viewing and inspection by appointment only. Offers to purchase or trade in will need to be submitted along with proposal documents.

The following is the description of LCRA’s current asset for trade in or sale:

·  2003 158’ Bronto Bucket Aerial

o  Hours: ~3,968 computer (1,027 hours RPMs were up and unit was operating)

o  Equipment serial number: 4796-011

·  2003 Sterling, LT9500 Truck/ Tandum Axle

o  Vin: 2FZHAZAS13AL03269

o  Mileage: 36,575~

o  Hours: 370 ~

LCRA will accept a used 200’ aerial if the equipment meets the following criteria:

·  Unit must have same warranty as new equipment

·  Unit must meet specifications

·  Unit must have less than 8000 miles

·  Unit must have less than 500 hours

·  Unit must be 2014 or newer

·  Unit will have to pass inspection at our facility
