2. PURPOSE OF ROLE:

  • To carry out repairs and maintenance activities to a high standard on a wide range of properties in a courteous and polite manner, recognising our customer care philosophy.

3. ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

TheEngineeris accountable for completing repair works as directed and for achieving and maintaining high standards of work that ensure high customer satisfaction levels.

4. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To undertake all gas related repairs and heating installs identified within Acis housing stock and any other properties as instructed in both tenanted and void properties.
  • To ensure that the correct materials are identified and used to complete the work at the required quality standard
  • Undertake multi-skilled works as and when required.
  • Use and complete all work details by use of a PDA hand held electronic device.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork in relation to parts and material requisitions and orders etc, in a neat and accurate manner and on time as directed by management.
  • To identify where necessary, the extent of repairs and installations required on site, with the aim to complete in one visit, reporting any problems or further action required to the office.
  • Responsible for the regular timely maintenance and replenishment of vehicle material stocks.
  • To liaise with tenants and your line manager concerning the timing and progress of work being undertaken.
  • To ensure the safe handling and storage of all plant and equipment, including regular checks for road-worthiness on vehicles for which you are responsible.
  • To carry out work activities in line with current Approved Codes of Practice and in accordance with Building Regulations and compliance with all Gas Safe procedures.
  • To work in a safe manner in respect of adherence to health and safety Regulations with regard to the safety of yourself, other workers, customers and the general public.
  • To personally carry out and work to localised risk assessments as your individual work task requires.
  • Must be willing to show flexibility in working hours as the job demands.
  • Must be prepared to undertake further training and qualifications as the job role and changing legislation demands.
  • To provide any hand tools required to undertake your duties within this role as an electrician.

6.ENVIRONMENT:

  • Generally work to a programme of tasks as identified by your line manager but the programme can be interrupted to deal with emergency situations.
  • Use of ladders and step ladders where needed to effect a repair.
  • Working from scaffold access, or hydraulic platforms, as work tasks dictate.
  • Lifting of materials and component part, tool kits, ladders, power tools.
  • Fitting of materials and component parts in confined spaces often in awkward postures.
  • Conditions can vary and on occasion can include dirty and disagreeable sites.Includes elements of working in all types of weather conditions.
  • Lone working with the public and in tenants’ homes, including working at height and in empty properties.
  • The role will be operating from Acis House, Bridge Street, Gainsborough, DN21 1GG. Due to the nature of this role, extensive travel will be required between properties within Acis Group’s area of operation on a daily basis.
  • Hours of work for this role are 39.5 hours per week. Normal working hours are between 8:30am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am – 4.30pm on Fridays (including 30mins for lunch).
  • The post holder will be required to travel as part of this role. This will be to visit and carry out building works in both tenanted and void properties within Acis Group’s area of operation or throughout the UK for attending training courses or meetings. Therefore the post holder will require a full and valid driving licence.
  • The dress code for this role is the wearing of company provided PPE work clothing at all times, unless otherwise directed by your line manager.
  • The post holder will work on a mobile basis out of a company vehicle in a variety of property locations.
  • The post holder will be required to maintain a clean and safe working environment and respect the property and belongings of our customers.
