1. In your own words briefly describe the Communication tool, Google Apps. Briefly describe its purpose as a personal and business tool.

Google Apps are used for mostly businesses, but as well as for personal use.
It’s a way of gathering all employees to one place to store all their important information. For example, applications such as Gmail or Google calendar can accommodate employees in such tasks. Companies pay only $50.00 per user per year for the app. It can also reduce IT costs and allow employees to get connected more effectively and communicate more often.
It’s a better tool to store your information; you are given 25 GB for your email storage. It is also easier to find your information with the built in Google search tab. Employees find what their looking for more efficiently, and can store most of their work through the app.
You can use Google Apps not only on your computer, but also on a smart phone such as a blackberry or IPhone. This way you have access to your Gmail while on the road. To download any of the Google apps on your phone comes at no extra charge to you. The company says that the app will be available at least 99.9% of the time. Google Apps secure data center is designed to connect you automatically to another data center if your app is down leaving you with no interruptions. If I’m working in a office and I need to access my Gmail to get information and I can’t access it, I wouldn’t know what to do. By having this data center that will back you up is ideal to me. Google has the best experts in information and the most trusted app that is on the internet.

You are able to connect to a Google App to your existing IT infrastructure. There are many different ways that Google Apps can change the way you connect. If there are any problems and you do need help, there’s a phone line for critical issues, email support and self service online support.

2. According to your internet research, name two different Google Apps

Two most popular Google Apps for business are Google calendar and Gmail for business.

3. In your own opinion, what are two advantages of using Google Apps for business purposes?

·  There are many advantages towards Google Apps but the main important tool on Google Apps for business purposes is their availability. For 99.9% of the time, Google Apps is one of the most reliable sources once it comes to business. Employees do not have to worry about the site being unavailable or having some technical difficulties. It is always ready to go therefore it is good especially for business, it will send information’s in time.

·  Another advantage towards Google Apps is the help support for the customers. They are available 24/7 and the customer can contact them anytime they are having difficulties. They can phone for help if it’s critical. They can also be contacted through email and self service online. So if anyone gets stuck or having trouble help is on the way.

4. In your own opinion what are two disadvantages of using Google Apps for business purposes?

Google Apps is enormous around the world, but Google Apps is not good for business companies that have several different clients. Having a big business with several clienteles, can be a hinder for your company due to the fact that Google’s server administrator can block your emails from hotmail, yahoo, AIM, ICQ, and even your own Gmail account. Google Apps may be a reliable source of technology for communication but it is not reliable for business purposes. Servers that block your emails because of a firewall are not a server you want to be using for your business, especially if it is fast growing. When I was looking for a provider that can give me my own personal space for emails, I did consider Gmail, but I did find it inconvenient when I wanted to get Google Apps. Google Apps is certainly not free you have to pay $50 per account, not even for as much accounts as you would like just one account. That is a lot of money to be spending on a Google App account. The space that you receive is so limited, only seven GB per account. You have to spend so much for so little. Getting your money’s worth is what every buyer wants and this is where Google Apps falls short.

5. Explain how Google Apps maybe used in a healthcare facility. State two advantages and disadvantages of using Google Apps in a healthcare facility.

Google Apps is a very convenient and helpful Communication tool in a healthcare facility.

It’s a very good and effective solution in terms of cost. Few simple steps allow medical workers to go online, view, print, and give all the necessary documents and spreadsheets to the patient right on the spot.

One of the advantages of using Google Apps makes it very easy to track the patient’s vaccination checklist. It is also very convenient as it could be used from everywhere.

Although it can be a helpful application, there are also some disadvantages. It makes it harder if the person is in a different location and has an important document in his/her computer. It may cause such a problem as an impossible access to the document that has been specially prepared in terms of what the patient needs.

Generally, Google Apps help to deliver information to all the patients on time as well as to provide the best care.

6. If you were to create a Google App for your healthcare facility, what would it be? How would this Google App benefit your healthcare facility?

The healthcare facility that I would create would be a dentist office that would provide a client or patient anything they need. It would benefit us in a good way, because when a person needs something everyone goes on to the internet to search what they need. So it would help us as an office towards our patients and clients. Our App would have everything it would need for a patient to find us and get help.
