Dear Parents/Guardians,

8th grade is a transition year. As students prepare for high school, they need to learn how to manage their progress and workload. You can help your student develop these skills by encouraging him/her to:

1. Keep an organized binder

2. Record assignments and tests in his/her planner

3. Self-advocate (ask questions)

4. Utilize teacher websites

5. Use StudentVue to check grades

As a parent, it is important to know how to check your student’s progress in his/her classes. Here are our recommendations:

1. Ask your student if his/her homework is completed for the day.

2. Check your student’s planner for the homework assigned for each class.

3. Check the teacher websites for the daily homework assignments.

4. Check ParentVue for a list of the assignments your student has completed and their test scores.

If you have progressed through the steps above and need additional information, please email the relevant teacher(s).

Thank you for supporting your student’s academic success and personal growth!
