2/9/15 Meeting Minutes

Members signed in with Secretary Madelynn Bovasso.
President Anna Hathcock called the meeting to order and recognized visiting Salisbury Youth Council. She then led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Outgoing President Anna Hathcock turned over the meeting to 2015 President Callie Alvarado.
Ice Breaker learned at State Youth Council conference was led by both Executive Boards.
By Laws Committee Chair, Caitlin Epstein announced the kick off meeting will be held 4:00 2/11 at the Academy Center. Madelynn Bovasso, Allyson Finley, and Meg Aldridge will attend.
City Council, Callie Alvarado discussed the Council meeting at 6:00pm in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 26 Union Street South. 2/12 will be attended by Katherine, Brandon, Amelia, Emily, Lia, Ugoji & Maggie; 3/12 will be attended by Merrill, Mary Lauren, Loren, Mitchell, Seth, Audrey, Jake, Donovan, Lauren, Aarushi; 4/9 will be attended by Meg, Allyson, Riley, Symira, Izzy, Raina, Callie, Caitlin, Dorothy, John Edwards
Co-Chairs Meg Aldridge and Raina Meyer discussed Old Courthouse Theatre, ushering for Proposals. 1/24: Kerry, Merrill, Ugoji; 1/25: Austin Barbee, Audrey, Raina; 1/31: Katleen, Lucas; 2/7:Caitlin; 2/8:Aarushi attended.
State Youth Council Service Learning Conference, 1/30-2/1, High Point. Allyson Finley, Callie, Caitlin, Emily, Maddie Bovasso, Meg Aldridge and Katherine Shue attended. Callie Alvarado summarized the weekend and discussed the benefits of team building.
Operation: Teddy Bear Drop, 2/2, 3:00pm, Build-A-Bear, chair Anna Hathcock. Ugogi, Allyson, Loren, Mary Lauren, William B., Adelle, Will P, Hannah Ross attended. Anna Hathcock explained the project.
Backpacks for Hope, 2/4, 4pm, Academy Rec Center, chair Maddie Bovasso. Maddie Bovasso explained Backpacks for Hope and discussed the work session. Dorothy, Symira, Ugoji, William B., Adelle, Hannah Ross, Will P. attended.
Valentines 2 Seniors, chair John Edwards
2/9, 5:30 made valentines before meeting: Dorothy, William B, Adelle, Hannah Ross & Izzy. & 2/12, 4:00pm Taylor Glenn- handing out valentines: Audrey, Symira, Carter & Amelia. Chair John Edwards gave the details of the project.
Kitty Cat Food Drive & Goody Bags, 2/23, 6pm, Will Patten, Chair: Will discussed the upcoming event to benefit Kitty city. Lia and Emily signed up to fill the bags before the meeting.
Community Free Clinic 2/17, Jake Ryan Chair. Sign Up genius will be posted soon.
SeussFest, 3/7, 10am-1pm, Concord Library, Chair Symira Squires. Volunteers will play Seuss related games and crafts with children after the library reads a Seuss book. Symira explained the upcoming event. Sign up genius link will be posted soon.
Awards Banquet, 5/18, Hotel Concord. Callie Alvarado explained the Award Banquet and asked for Chairs. Invitation: chair needed; Reservations: Raina Meyer; Program: Ugoji; Food/ Drink: Allyson Finley; Decorations: Riley Olson and John Edwards; Clean Up: chair needed
President of the Salisbury Youth Council discussed their plans, projects, and main goal for this year.
Meeting was adjourned by President Callie Alvarado.
