Originally hailing from Ontario, Canada, John cut his teeth playing Junior Men’s Lacrosse for the storied Six Nations Arrows. With the Arrows John was a runner-up for the Minto Cup in 1998, and awarded the John “Gus” McCauley award as the top defender in Canadian Lacrosse Association Junior Men’s Lacrosse.

After graduating from Lake Superior State University in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in 2001, John was drafted by the Washington Power of the National Lacrosse League. When the Power moved to Denver in 2003 and became the Colorado Mammoth, John came with the team. Since then he has established himself as cornerstone of the franchise. John won an NLL championship with the Mammoth in 2006, was named an NLL All-Star in 2007, has served as team captain, and currently is the franchise’s all-time leader in games played and loose balls, as well as second all-time in penalty minutes.

In addition to his NLL career, John played in the WLA with the Victoria Shamrocks from 2003-2005, winning the Mann Cup twice, in 2003 and 2005. He was also a member of the gold medal winning Canadian team at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in 2007.

When he’s not on the lacrosse floor, John teaches 2nd grade in suburban Denver. He is married and has two young children of his own.
