SPEC NOTE ENVIRONMENT: This Section specifies environmentally responsible material choices, including recycling and reuse options, and generally available disposal options. The inclusion of recycled content provides efficient use of natural resources and diverts materials from the waste stream.

Part 1  General

1.1  Provide 1 dock bumper at one overhead door as indicated on drawings.

SPEC NOTE: Size of opening and anchor inserts to be coordinated with Section 03300 - Cast-in-Place Concrete. Specify provisions of opening in Section 03300 - Cast-in-Place Concrete.

2.1  MANUFACTURED UNITS

.1  Laminated Dock Bumper

.1  Rubberized fabric truck tires cut to uniform size pads254 x 305 mm, with 305 mm overall projection. Pads punched to receive 19 mm steel supporting rods.
.2  Rubber pads laminated between structural steel angles and compressed under approximately 680 kg pressure. Angles welded to 19 mm steel rods at one end and closed with threaded rod and nut at other end.
.3  Anchor leg of angle extends 76 mm beyond rubber surface at each end and contains three 21 mm anchor bolt holes as required.
.4  Black lead-free enamel finish for exposed metal parts.

Part 3  Execution

3.1  INSTALLATION

.1  No assembly required for pre-manufactured unit. Install dock bumper as indicated.

.1  Laminated Dock Bumper: Provide bolting set in concrete foundation for structural mounting angles.
