ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Abstracts should be submitted by Friday 12 February 2016and typed in English.Selection will be based on originality and quality of work. All abstracts will be assessed, blind, by the Scientific Committee. Authors will be notified on the committee's decision by late March2016.

Each abstract should include:

 Title in CAPITAL LETTERS

 Authors names: presenter's names first

 Institution, City and Country

 Type abstract in English. Maximum of 425 words (excluding title, authors’ names and institution). Abstracts exceeding 425 words will be rejected.

 Indicate if your wish the abstract to be considered for the EVF Prize.

The EVF prize will be awarded to the three best abstracts according to originality and quality.

To be eligible for the prize the presenter should:

  • Be a Trainee/Junior Doctor
  • Under 40 years of age
  • Confirm that the material has not been presented or published elsewhere.

Abstracts are published in Phlebology.

The Prizes will be awarded during the Congress Dinner.

EVF Prize:

The winners of 1st and 2nd place are awarded a Travelling Grant (to a maximum of £1,500) to attend the annual meeting of the American Venous Forum. The abstracts of the three winning papers will be submitted to the Scientific Committee of the AmericanCollege of Phlebology (ACP). They will select one paper and provide a grant to attend the next ACP meeting to present the paper.

The 3 winning abstracts are also submitted to the Japanese Society of Phlebology (JSP) who will accept two to be presented at the 2016 meeting of the JSP. The JSP will award a grant up to £2,000 to cover the travel, registration and accommodation expenses in attending the meeting.

Candidates may also submit abstracts for the Venous Spring Meeting Prize

Prize:Oral: 1st: £250; 2nd: £200; 3rd: £150 Poster: £200
Open to:Medical students and trainees

Abstracts should be structured (aims, methods, results, conclusions) and be a maximum 250 words. Candidates short-listed will be asked to present an oral presentation at the meeting 2016. Candidates not selected for an oral presentation will be invited to present a poster at the meeting. Posters will be presented in an exhibition at the meeting in 2016 and all accepted abstracts will be published inPhlebology.

IMPORTANT:

It is a condition of submission that should your abstract be accepted for presentation that the presenting author will register for the congress at least 4 weeks prior to the date of the meeting. Failure to register will mean removal of your abstract from the programme.
