GEORGE SHUNK. Private in Captain Y.H. LAPSLEY’s Co D, 54th Regt of Pa Volunteers. Enrolled 14 Sep 1861. Discharged 16 Aug 1862 at Sir Johns Run, Virginia, by reason of surgeon’s certificate of disability. He was born in Somerset County, is 45 years old, 5’10” high, fair complexion, black eyes, dark hair, and was by occupation, when enrolled, a carpenter. “Can not re-enlist”.
