Oregon Extended Assessment: 2017-18 Oregon Observational Rating Assessment (ORora)

TheOregonObservationalRating Assessment(ORora)providesinstructionaland functional informationforteachersandparentsinfourdomains:attention, math concepts, and communication(expressiveandreceptive). Itisadministeredtostudentswithsignificant cognitivedisabilities(SWSCDs)whoarenotable toaccessthe academicdemandsofthe Oregon ExtendedAssessment(ORExt),despitetheprovisionofextensivesupportsand test design features founded in the concepts of universal design for assessment.

Qualified Assessors are to use the following decision rule in determining whether or not to complete the ORora:

If testingfor an ORExtcontentareaassessmentis discontinuedinEnglishlanguagearts, Mathematics,or Science,QAs must completetheORora (only oneORoraperstudentmust be completed).

Theeducator(s)responsibleforthestudent'sinstructionshouldcomplete thisassessment, which iscomprisedof10LevelofIndependenceitems(5-‐ Attention Sub-‐domain and5-‐ Math ConceptsSub-‐domain) and 10Communication items(5-‐ ExpressiveSub-‐domain and5– Receptive Sub-‐domain) using the following rating scales (1-‐4). These ratings can be summarized within and across domains to define and track student progress. A total of80 points arepossible on this assessment (20 points for each sub-‐domain).
