The AANSS conference is the annual get-together of the Australian neutron scattering community. It is attended by scientists working in physics, chemistry, biology, crystallography, instrumentation, engineering and applied materials, software, medical imaging and therapy, from a range of institutions including Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest universities and government laboratories.

The conference will consist of invited talks, short oral presentations from the submitted abstracts and informal poster session. The AANSS meetings are oriented towards presentations from students and ECRs, although all attendees are encouraged to submit abstracts.

Papers will be consideredin the following major topics:

Abstracts: Abstracts should be typed on a single A4 page using the abstract template which can be downloaded from the AINSE website events page. Abstracts should be submitted by email to conference coordinator – d should have an accompanying note detailing the address of the communicating author and preference for oral or poster presentation.

Deadline for receipt of 1 page abstract – by e-mail / 20 Sept 2013
Deadline for ‘Early bird’ registrations - discounts apply / 25 Oct 2013
Deadline for all registrations / 20 Nov 2013

Registration

Registration payments for the conference must be received by the conference coordinator – later than Wednesday 20 November 2013. Registration fees are in AUD and include GST.

Students from AINSE member organisations / $140 / $195
Participants from non-member organisations / $310 / $365

The conference registration fee includes: attendance at all technical sessions; morning & afternoon teas; lunch(s); conference BBQ dinnerandthe conference handbook.

Cancellations

Cancellations for the conference will be accepted up to 10 days prior to the event commencing and a full refund of the registration fee will be issued; after this date there will be no refund.

Any penalty applied by the hotel / motel for cancellation will be passed on to the delegate.

All cancellations must be in writing and sent to the conference coordinator ().

Flights and Accommodation

AINSE will organise and pay for a limited number of flights and accommodation for student participants who are from AINSE member organisations,provided they present a poster / abstract. This subsidy will only be available if booked through AINSE. In general, flights will be booked for Monday morning and Tuesday evening. For delegates in remote locations travel may be booked on other days dependent on flight availability.
