REGISTRATION GUIDELINES 2014

(How to fill your Registration forms correctly and dates to note.)

We are truly encouraged that you will be participating in our 18thNATIONAL SPM BK ORAL QUIZ and BK14 QUIZ. This year, we are continuing with REGIONAL COMPETITIONS.

Registration will be carried out by several Regional Registrars this year, who will register participants according to the respective regions.

Please readour Pre-quiz Info and this Registration Guidelines carefully,before you fill up the registration forms, to …

(i)ensure that your name/team is not left-out,

(ii)help us conducta smooth-running, enjoyable, successful and most of all, God-glorifying event.

  1. Use the correct registration form.
  1. BK centres: Privately conducted/church-based BK classes. Use the form RC1/14 if registering for the 18th National SPM BK Oral Quiz and RC2/14 if registering for BK14 quiz. These forms have a column to state which schools your students come from and the region in which they will compete in for the Regional Quiz.
  1. Schools: School Christian Fellowships and school-run BK classes. Use separate forms for 18th National SPM BK Oral Quiz(RS1/14) and BK14 Quiz (RS2/14).
  1. All names must be submitted throughour official registration forms which can be downloaded from or or requested for by sending an email to - Attn: Laina Ng.
  1. Pair team members for the National SPM BK Oral Quiz appropriately.

Our quizzes are run to encourage schools to register for the SPM Bible Knowledge paper. BK centers with students from different schools MUST therefore:

(i)Pair students from the same school together. We will NOT register mixed-school teams from this year.

(ii)Include the names of unpaired students in your registration form –registrars will try to find same-school partners for these students. If partners cannot be found, lone students may take part in Stage 1 (Regional quiz).These students may later be paired with another registered student (who is still without a partner on quiz day) from the same school/region, if they wish to compete at the National SPM BK Oral quiz.

  1. Register for the correct quiz.
  • The National SPM BK Oral quiz is specifically catered for Form 5 students who have registered for the SPM BK paper and Form 4 students who are preparing to do so. F4 and F5 students who are studying the subject in BK classes or on their own are also eligible to participate, pending vacancies.
  • The BK 14 quiz is a shorter, side-quiz that is suitable for:
  1. Students from Forms 1 – 6
  2. Quiz-day helpers (strongly encouraged to take BK14)

Note: Each student can only take part in either SPM BK Oral quiz or BK 14 quiz, not both.

4.Provide all the information required in the registration form.

Pay particular attention to the following:

(i) Full name of all participants.

(ii) Name and contact information of an adult who will accompany the students to the quiz.

(Preferably BK teacher, but can be a parent / youth pastor / …)

(iii) Telephone contact (handphone preferable, to enable urgent SMS to be sent)

(iv) Mailing address complete with postcode/ email address (for sending quiz materials to you.)

5.Register by the closing dates:

20th JUNE 2014 for 18thSPM BK ORAL QUIZ and Regional BK14*

(Regional Quizzes takes place on 5th July 2014, at Regional Centers.)

7thJULY 2014 for BK14 QUIZ

(BK14 Quiz takes place on 26th July 2014)

It is VERY IMPORTANT that we receive your registration forms by the closing dates. We need to be firm about the early closing dates to facilitate the work of the different regional committees involved in running Part 1 (the first stage) of this nation-wide quiz.

* NOTE to participants from Northern Region/Ipoh, Miri, Southern Region/Melaka and Labuan:

This year we will hold Regional BK14 quiz in Ipoh, Miri, Melaka and Labuan on 5th July, 2014.

If you are interested to take part, please contact and register with your Regional Registrar by 20th June 2014.
