More Pathways Success Stories!

Did you know that Vandalia Rehab & Health Care Center not only provides quality long-term care, but also features Pathways, our Rehab-to-Home program? Pathways offers physical, occupational and speech therapy services seven days a week to guests of our program. Our interdisciplinary treatment approach tailors an individualized plan of care for each guest to help ensure their quick return home.

A past graduate of Pathways had this to say: “My therapy has been excellent and never before through all of my therapies have I seen or had a therapist who actually did all of the exercises with you. The therapists listened to suggestions and were very ‘real’ about it. For someone needing rehab services, I would recommend a stay at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center”-Delmer Hoehne

Delmer’s son Jim shared “The staff was very friendly and I’m very pleased with the cleanliness of the facility. I’m very impressed and pleased with the progress and results of his therapy. We are all very pleased”. We take great pride in our work here at VRHCC! A special thanks to Dave and Vicki in our therapy department for making all these success stories a reality!

For more information on Pathways and the benefits of short term, personalized rehab-to-home therapy services provided at Vandalia Rehab & Health Care Center, please call our admissions coordinator Debra Hughes today! She would be happy to meet with you or your loved one to discuss how we can help you get back on the Pathway home!

Did you know we provide respite care?

VRHCC provides an excellent respite care program for caregivers who are looking after a loved one with dementia, alzheimers or complex medical conditions at home. This short term respite program provides great comprehensive care, personalized to each guests needs, whether that be for a day, a weekend or up to two weeks of care. Respite provides time for a caregiver to attend graduations, weddings, reunions or go on a family vacation, while having the peace of mind that their loved one is being cared for in a nurturing environment. Welcome to Sherri Workman, our new DON

The residents and staff of Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center would like to invite everyone to join us in welcoming our new Director of Nursing, Sherri Workman. Since completing her DON training with our home office of Petersen Health Care, Sherri has enjoyed getting to know our residents, family members, staff and volunteers here at VRHCC. “Sherri is a delightful new addition to our great team of department heads here at Vandalia RHCC. Her enthusiasm, genuine love for nursing and ability to encourage and teach our nurses and CNAs make her a wonderful director of nursing” shared Michelle Blain, administrator.

Sherri was born and raised in and around Vandalia and most recently worked for Dr. Darmadi’s office in Vandalia. Sherri graduated with her LPN in 1995 and her RN in 1997. Sherri is married to Scott Workman and they have two children, Anthony and Bailee. Sherri had this to say-“I am excited to return to VRHCC, having worked here in 1995 when I first became a nurse. Everyone had been very welcoming and I look forward to leading our wonderful nursing department”.
