Optional field trip to the Emirates Steel Industry minimill, Abu Dhabi

The completion of the DRI-based minimill #2 by 2011, will keep ESI in line with Abu Dhabi’s ‘Vision 2030’ project, to be the No. 1 steel producer in the Gulf region and a global player in the marketplace, with reliable and competitive production of over 3 Mtpy of bars, wire rod, and heavy sections.

Plant visit will be at the nearby benchmark DRI-based minimill #1 for bars and wirerod, which, amongst the other top technologies, incorporates the most performing single module DRI plant in the world.

The two complexes are supplied by Danieli on a LSTK basis.
