Wednesday 3rdJanuary 2018- All children return to school
Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s been another busy week. This week has been Maths Enterprise Week, your invite should have reached you by now to come to our special fair. The children will be selling the things they have made.At the start of Maths Week, each class were given a challenge to take a£15 loan (per class) and come up with a brilliant ‘enterprise’ idea to make as much profit as possible! All profits go to a charity of the classes’ choice. We will be holding the Fair in the hall of the new building on Wednesday 13th December at 3.30 p.m. It will be great for you to see how enterprising and creative our pupils have been!
Preparations for our nativity and Winter Festival concerts have started in earnest (see dates and times above). However learning hasn’t been put on hold. This week the leadership team started a round of observationsfor Guided Reading and I’ll let you know next week how that went. Those I have observed so far have been of a very high standard and the children are being really encouraged to use their comprehension and reasoning skills.
Last but not least our football teams have been really improving of late. The referee at our last match said that in her opinion our teams are the most improved. This includes skill, and just as importantly our fair play and courtesy. Last week
The Girls Team won 3 – 0 against Townsend Primary and the Boys Team won 3 – 1 against St John’s and St Clements Primary. All the players did very well, but player of the matches was Erlue. Well done to all!
Have a safe, warm and happy weekend, from Elizabeth and all at Keyworth!
Safeguarding News
On the news this week a new internet danger has been brought to the public’s attention. There are live feed apps that are being used inappropriately to trick children into doing things or giving away information that they wouldn’t usually. If your child has access to these you are being advised to monitor closely, or to not allow their use. Adults if you want to read more about it visit
