Check-in Festival
13th &14th April 2018, Attenborough Arts Centre, Leicester
DEparture Lounge is In Good Company’s flagship festival: uplifting audiences and helping artists take flight. For the fourth year running we will be hosting a check-in festival at Attenborough Arts Centre, to warm you up for the main event. Taking inspiration from next year’s headline show Spilt Milk’s ‘A Little love Cabaret’ the theme for this year’s check-in festival is ‘Relationships’, be that with people, work or politics! We are looking to present high quality new work from some of the most exciting artists in the East Midlands.
What we are looking for:
- End on performances suitable for studio theatre space
- Site-specific performance that can be performed in and around Attenborough Arts Centre (café, car-park, gallery, rehearsal room etc)
- Work that experiments with form
- Work made by artists based in the East Midlands
- Performances of between 10mins – 1hr long
- Work that would sit well performed in the afternoon or evening
- Shows can be finished or work-in-progress but must in some way relate to theme.
Please note: End on performances are likely to be billed as part of a variety evening and therefore should be no longer than 20 mins in length and be able to get-in and out in 10 minutes. Site-specific work needs to be low-tech or self-sufficient.
What we provide:
- Technical/dress rehearsal time on the day of performance
- Technical support from Venue
- Inclusion in the Departure lounge Check-in programme and publicity
- Honorarium fee of £150 per piece
