Special Meeting Minutes
Monday, November 30, 2015
Opening:
The special meeting of the La Fontaine Town Council was called to order at 6:06 PM on Monday November 30, 2015, in the Town Hall by Council President Gary Henderson.
Present:
Councilmen: Gary Henderson, Jeremy Waite
Others: Cindy Erb, Janet Pattee, Donna Nose, Jay Gillespie, Nikki McGinnis, Lori Brane, Kyle Persinger, Mike Conner and Jordan Tandy.
A. Open Issues
1. The Town of La Fontaine's attorney is retiring on December 31, 2015. An ad was placed in the newspaper for any interest in the position. We received two resumes about the open position. The current Town Council wanted the opportunity to speak with the attorneys about their interest in the position with the Town of La Fontaine and to also let the new Town Council have a say in the decision in the position as well. Jordan Tandy from Tiede Metz Downs Tandy and Petruniw, P.C. and Mike Conner and Kyle Persinger from Spitzer Herriman Stephenson Holderead Conner and Persinger, LLP attended the meeting, they talked about their interest in the position and why they would like to represent the Town of La Fontaine in the future.The Council asked them to send an email about why they are interested in the position and will make a decision at the upcoming meeting on December 14, 2015.
2. The Salary Ordinance for 2016 was read for the first reading on November 9, 2015 during the normal monthly Council meeting. The second reading of the Salary Ordinance for 2016 was read and there were a few corrections that needed to be done. Such as changing the Health Savings account for the Clerk-Treasurer and putting "part time" for the Deputy Clerk position. Changes were made, the Council President read the Salary Ordinance for the third time, a motion to pass the Salary Ordinance was made by Council member, Jeremy Waite and seconded by Council member Jon Gillespie. The Salary Ordinance for 2016 was unanimously passed.
H. Adjournment
Meeting was adjourned at 6:56 PM. The next general meeting will be at 7:00 PM on Monday
December 14, 2015 in the La Fontaine Town Hall.
