Fixed Asset Accountant X 2

12 Months – Fixed Term Contract

The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) seeks to employ Fixed Asset Accountant, who will report directly to the SCM Manager and be based at head office in Centurion.

Key Performance Areas will include but not limited to the following

·  Provide overall administrative support to the Head office and regional offices

·  Review current controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets.

·  Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals on the accounting system.

·  Capitalisation of fixed assets.

·  Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.

·  Work closely with other departments in tracking project cost in comparison to their budgeted projections

·  Conduct periodic reviews of the fixed asset schedule to determine disposal.

·  Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.

·  Run depreciation for all fixed assets.

·  Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist auditors in their enquiries.

·  Review and preparation of monthly asset management reporting.

·  Reconcile specific general ledger accounts.

·  Initiate insurance for newly purchased assets.

·  Report on all insured assets, claims and scrapped assets from the insured list.

·  Preparation, analysis and reporting of capital budget

·  Communicate with co-workers, management and clients in a courteous and professional manner.

·  Report for work in a timely manner when scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

·  Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Financial Accounting, with emphasis on the management of fixed assets

·  3 years’ experience in maintaining the Fixed Asset Register

·  Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

·  Knowledge of National Treasury Regulations

·  Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the Country

·  Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license

·  Highly detail oriented and organized in work

·  Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

·  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills

·  Proficient in Microsoft Excel

·  Knowledge of Dynamics AX will be an added advantage

·  Ability to meet assigned deadlines.

·  Must be able to communicate in English.

·  Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.

·  Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
