1. Headline must not be too long (under 80 characters), has active verb and subject.

2. Headline should accurately present press release’s content.

3. Headline must be newsworthy (important and recent enough to be announced).

4. Summary should clearly describe press release’s content.

5. Your summary should be one to two sentences long.

6. Please do not use first paragraph as summary paragraph.

7. Press release word count should be between 400 to 800 words.

8. Be objective — don’t use casual first person language (I, we, you, etc).

9. Attach images to make the release more visually appealing

10. Video should be embedded correctly into press release.

11. Content must have a legitimate news angle announcing something new /timely.

12. Don’t write your press release like an advertisement or a salesletter.

13. Content should keep an impartial tone throughout the press release.

14. Please don’t ask question(s) in a press release.

15. Use Uppercase and Lowercase lettering appropriately.

16. Ensure links are formatted correctly.

17. Make sure each paragraph is spaced out with a line.
