Description of the Software:
The user is given four different choices of places to go. One choice was Papa’s Store where the user would have to add or subtract with costumes. The user then could buy parts of a costume for different prices. The program would give an amount of money to put into a slot, and the user had to click on the appropriate change. Another choice was a rabbit was trying to cross a river, but in order to cross he had to move the days of the week in the correct order to get across.
My Impressions of the software:
The software was age appropriate for 1st grade. It taught money concepts, adding and subtracting, and days of the week. The software was easy to navigate, and the graphics were kid friendly with fun sounds. We liked this software enough to use it in our classroom.
How it can be used in the classroom:
It could be used to review when counting money and adding and subtracting. We would use it during free time for students to use as a review. The software could be used in a computer lab for one-on-one interaction.
