Helpful Hints

  • Don’t dribble when you can make a constructive pass.
  • Move to the open space to receive the ball and move away from the defender who is guarding you to gain a better position and time to control the ball and pass.
  • Don’t always pass forward. Give square passes and back passes. This will draw the opposition players forward and out of position.
  • Play the simple balls and give easy passes.
  • Don’t criticize your teammates - - we all make mistakes and have bad days.
  • Never turn away from the ball. Watch it at all times.
  • Back up teammates and help cover the space behind them.
  • Always move towards the pass; never wait for the pass to come to you.
  • What you do when you don’t have the ball is just as important as knowing what to do when you have the ball.
  • A well-placed shot is more effective than a hard shot.
  • Look one way, pass the other.
