New Jewelry Lady Check List

1.  TELL EVERYBODY what you are doing and why.

Have a QUICK reason why you chose to do this. Talk to your Mama to help you figure it out. People want to know QUICKLY why this is important to you --- and will more readily help out if they see the value.

2.  Make a list of who to invite --- leave NO ONE OUT. And star the people to ask before the show about booking a show.

3.  Book shows. Call people and tell them what you are doing and why. Explain the contest with quick start and that it is a win win situation. They get tons of free bling and they help you get your business off the ground. Shoot for 6 shows to be booked before the Training show if Possible. Practice asking with your Mama.

4.  Get some “businessy” things out of the way so you feel prepared.

  1. Set up a personal checking account in your name to use for your business and pick up some change for at your show in case people pay in cash.
  2. Make a Wal Mart Run … see attached list.
  3. Look over your books and label them with your name, address, cell phone and email.

5.  Try and schedule shows as soon after your training show as possible… you may need to get invites out for these BEFORE your training show occurs… so ask your mama for an invite template to use and guidance on getting those out.

6.  Get totally excited… show everyone your jewelry when it arrives. Tag it with the item number and the price and the name of the item. Attach tags with little gold safety pins if possible.

7.  Plan to talk to your Mama several times a week for the first 6 weeks – ask any and all questions. The more in contact you are… the better.

8.  Go to EVERY training possible. Experience has shown us all that if you train – you will grow, if you don’t you will lose enthusiasm.

9.  Set up Pro Pay to take credit cards… under business links on the web page.

10.  Wear the jewelry EVERYWHERE and talk about it! Excitement and Determination is the key to success. When people compliment you... be bold… ask them if they would like to get some free!

Wal Mart Run

1.  Name tags

2.  Sharpie Pen

3.  Pack of Pens

4.  Pack of printer paper… cardstock if you will make your own postcard invites.

5.  Calculator

6.  Bag of little gold safety pins

7.  Pack of labels…put in home show packets for addresses and use on catalogs

8.  Calendar. The thin ones that have the week at a glance and month at a glance 8x11 work the best.

9.  A few 5x7 bubble envelopes for returning jewelry (Your mama will help you with this… very simple)

10.  (if you are going to use tickets – Wal Mart sells these too.)

11.  If you are making your own invites… and you are doing postcards… you may want to pick up a cheap paper cutter… about $10. If you plan to fold paper and put in envelopes – get some envelopes. Your kit comes with premade invite postcards which are great to use. Talk to your Mama about what she recommends.

12.  Lamps are helpful to have but not essential. Ikea sells some for around $10 but a skinny folding desk lamp that is inexpensive is great.

13.  Extension cord if you are going to use lamps

Incentive Site Order

The incentive site is on the web page under business links. If you place an order of $50 there is free shipping. Here are some items you may want to get…

1.  3 yards of black fabric for table. $15

2.  Prizes – tons of items under $2… talk to your Mama for recommendations

I love to give the charm bracelets ($2.95 ish) as prizes for hostesses. The cleaners and polishing cloths are also nice gifts for hostesses.

3.  Neck boards. Not essential – but nice. Range from $1.50 to $2.50… 4 to 6 is all you need. If you are feeling extravagant … a bracelet bar is nice. You can put a Lays container under your cloth – and place bracelets over that.

4.  Mirror… $10
