PIE is based on the concept that "human capital" is the most important resource a partner can provide. Many businesses do provide funding for specific needs; however, this is done voluntarily. PIE believes the greatest benefit to education is derived from the personal involvement of volunteers in schools. Community partners of all sizes have impacted students and staff throughout our area. Current partners include large and small businesses, civic organization, military units, and faith-based organizations.

Thank you for your interest and support of our schools. Please return pages two and three to the address listed on page 2.

Definitions Page

Partners: There are two categories of partners; schools and community partners. Community partners are business, civic organizations, military units, and faith based organizations who apply for partnership with a school.

Partnership Coordinator: Each partnership has two coordinators; one for the community partner and one for the school. These are the people who are responsible for all planning, communications and scheduling between the school and organization.

Partner at Large: They are not committed to one school; they are Partners-at-Large (PALS), who have a valuable service to offer all schools. They are listed in a resource guide given to the schools using the information provided by the business or group. (This list is currently being updated; a link will be inserted here when updates are complete).

Partnership Success Criteria: There are four key areas that have been identified by PIE as areas of greatest need. Not every criterion has to be addressed but you must address at least one. For example, CB&T serve as a Partner-at-Large to all schools. They have a program called Money Matters which teaches students about the importance and how-to’s of finance management. This is a fundamental life skill they’ll use throughout their lives thus relating to success factor #3. Please explain the relevance of your program or service to the applicable success factor(s).
