At a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Fredonia, duly called and held on the 14thday of August, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Trustee’s Room, 2nd Floor, Village Hall, Fredonia, New Yorkand public notice of the time and place of this meeting has been given to the news media and conspicuously posted in one or more designated public locations in accordance with Section 104 of the Open Meetings Law.

WHEREAS members of this Board present at this meeting have read the Official

Minutes of the Board of Trustees regular meeting of July 24, 2017

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED this Board approves the minutes with modifications made to a certain resolution as entered into the Official Minutes, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the reading of the minutes be dispensed with.

REPORTS

  1. The Fire Department reports for the months of June and July, 2017.
  2. The Police Department report for the month of June, 2017.
  3. The Justice report for the month of July, 2017.

CORRESPONDENCE

  1. Correspondence was received from Tim Winters, Village of Fredonia

Firefighter, on behalf of The Fredonia Professional Firefighters Association Local 2931, requesting permission to hold a MDA boot drive September 1, 2017.

BE IT RESOLVED that the request of Tim Winters, on behalf of The Fredonia Professional Firefighters Association Local 2931, to hold a MDA boot drive on the corners of Temple Street and Church Street, on September 1, 2017 for approximately 8 hours is hereby approved.

Temple/Brigham Apts., LLC regarding their assessment for the property located at 70 Brigham Road (SBL 96.03-1-14) in the Village of Fredonia.

WHEREAS the Village Clerk has received a copy of the Notice of Petition and Petition from Fredonia Temple/Brigham Apts., LLC, against the Board of Assessment Review for the Town of Pomfret, the Assessor of the Town of Pomfret and the Town of Pomfret for a review of the assessment of certain Real Property known as 70 Brigham Road (SBL 96.03-1-14) in the Village of Fredonia for the 2017-2018 tax year,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said Notice of Petition and Petition be forwarded to the Town of Pomfret, the assessing authority for the Village of Fredonia, requesting them to protect the interest of the Village of Fredonia.

  1. Correspondence was received from the Secretary of the Fredonia Volunteer

Fire Department to transfer Tim Borzilleri from the active rolls to the Honor Rolls of the Fredonia Fire Police Company.

BE IT RESOLVED that the name of Tim Borzilleri, 4594 Berry Road, Fredonia, is hereby transferred from the Active Rolls to the Honor Rolls of the Fredonia Fire Police Company effective immediately.

  1. A letter of resignation was received from Part-time Police Officer Adam

Deuble, resigning his position effective August 16, 2017.

BE IT RESOLVED that the resignation ofAdam Deuble, as Part-time Police Officer, is hereby accepted effectiveAugust 16, 2017and the Mayor is hereby authorized to write a letter to Mr. Deuble thanking him for his service to the Village of Fredonia.

RESOLUTIONS

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $240,000 BONDS OF THE VILLAGE OF FREDONIA, CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, NEW YORK, TO PAY THE COST OF THE PURCHASE OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT FOR SAID VILLAGE.A COPY OF BOND RESOLUTION IS ATTACHED TO AND MADE PART OF THESE MINUTES.

BE IT RESOLVED the training requests of Ryan Fisk, Lindsay Pruitt, Anthony Faso, Larry Barter, Julius Leone, Steven Yunghans, John Wiedenhofer Jr., Elizabeth Barter, Tyler Bayles, Alexandria Zentz and Kurt Maytum to travel out of the county for Village business to attend the Annual Chautauqua County Ronald J. Keddie Memorial Weekend at NYS Fire Academy in Montour Falls, September 8-10, 2017 sponsored by the Chautauqua County Fire Chiefs Association are hereby approved at a total cost not to exceed $675.00 and $675.00 to be paid by Volunteers is hereby approved.

BE IT RESOLVED that the training request of Michael Woodward, Operator Trainee, Wastewater Treatment Plant, to attend the Basic operations of Wastewater Treatment Plants, in Morrisville, New York from September 11 - 22, 2017 is hereby approved at a cost not to exceed $2,775.00. This Conference is sponsored by Morrisville State College

ESSEK/CHRISTINA

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Fredonia hereby gives Michelle Sutter permission to join the Chautauqua County Fire Police Rescue Team and is permitted to respond outside the district in the capacity of a fire policeman and is covered by the VFBL in the event of injury or incident, and the Mayor or Village Administrator is hereby authorized to sign the Fire and Emergency Medical Mutual Aid Plan Special Team Participation Authorization form.
