Dear Students,

With reference to the Letter dtd.16.03.2007 / 20.03.2007 from Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore regarding your 8 weeks Summer Research Fellowship, I am to inform you that the Director, CDFD has been pleased to permit you to undertake the programme at CDFD, Hyderabad.

The CDFD laboratory is located at Nacharam, approximately 8 kms from the Secunderabad Railway station. Reaching this complex is very easy. An auto rickshaw may charge upto Rs.50/- to reach Nacharam. CDFD is located opposite the Police Station of Nacharam. The hostels and the administrative block of CDFD are currently located at Gandipet, approx. 35 kms from the Nacharam complex. When you arrive in Hyderabad /Secunderabad, please report directly to our Nacharam complex, from where you will be taken to Gandipet in the next available transport. Please note that the transport between Gandipet and Nacharam complex follows strict timings, and it is important not to miss the transport schedule. The last bus of the day leaves the Nacharam complex at 9.30 p.m. on weekdays, at 8.30 p.m. on Saturdays and at 6.30 p.m. on Sundays.

Your fellowship / stay at CDFD will be governed by the terms & conditions given below:

  1. Your Summer Research Fellowship at CDFD will start from date of your joining and will end on 10.07.2007. Extension of tenure of fellowship beyond 10.07.2007 will not be considered under any circumstances.
  1. No leave will be sanctioned during the tenure of fellowship.
  1. You will be paid fellowship as per the Academy norms and there will not be any financial liability on the part of CDFD.
  1. You are not permitted to handle any radioactive material. Further, you will have to abide by such safety rules as framed by your Guide.

  1. You will be wholly responsible for any loss/untoward incident due to your negligence etc. during the tenure of fellowship and you will have to indemnify the Centre for the same.
  1. Any research findings emanating from your research at CDFD will be the intellectual property of CDFD and you will have no rights whatsoever on the same.
  1. CDFD will make attempts to provide, at no charge, shared dormitory type accommodation during the period of fellowship. Local candidates will not be provided any accommodation. However, you will have to pay for your food and other expenses. Those staying in our dormitory will be required to pay security deposit of Rs.500/-, which would be refunded without interest at the time of leaving CDFD.
  1. You should complete all the formalities, such as handing over of project report to the Guide, completion of No-Demand Certificate etc. at least three days before your relief. Relieving Certificate will be issued only on receipt of the completed No-Demand Certificate.

  1. Bus timing for the trainees

The Trainees should strictly follow the bus timings.

  1. Do not download chat system, search engines etc., on the CDFD computers.
  2. Entry to Sun COE area is restricted to Bio-informatics trainees only.
  3. The phones kept in hostel are only for emergency purposes and hence please limit the call times on the CDFD phones.
  4. Do not play Tennis after 9.00 p.m. in the hostel.
  5. Switch off lights, fans, A/C. etc., in the room while going out.
  6. Do not leave the taps open in the common bathrooms.
  7. Do not venture out alone to Gandipet Lake.
  8. Do not take the newspaper and other items belonging to the TV/common room to Dormitories.
  9. Do not use the washing machine.
  10. Do not stay in the laboratory after 10 p.m.

  1. Use of instruments in the lab is permissible only under supervision of a senior student.
  1. If found misusing the systems (phone, computers and other facilities) a fine of Rs.500/- will be imposed.
