FAQ’s for ROBOKID 2014:

1.  How to register for ROBOKID 2014 competition?

You could register online on www.robokid.in or register at our office.

2.  What is the registration fee?

INR 900 per Individual

3.  When is the last date of registration fee?

5th May 2014

4.  Within how many days of registration, do we need to pay the fee?

There is no time limit as such. The earlier you pay, the earlier you get the software and guidance to practice for the competition.

5.  What is the mode of payment?

Cash, cheque or NEFT payment.

6.  How many students are allowed per team?

A team can have minimum 1 to maximum 4 per team

7.  Does a team necessarily comprise of more than one student?

No, even an individual student can participate as a team.

8.  My son/daughter team has 1 or more students from different schools, can they all participate as a team?

Yes.

9.  Do we need to take the permission of the schools, if students from two different schools participate as a team?

No.

10.  How do you send us the software cd if we pay online or if we cannot collect it in person?

We send your cd through courier.

11.  How long is the licensed version of the ROBOGURU software valid?

Valid for 1 year.

12.  What are the system requirements & can it be installed on Mac, Ipads, Notebooks, etc?

Basic system configuration would be sufficient.

OS: Windows 2008 and XP.

Ram: 2 GB

13.  Is the internet connection required for installation of software and while running it?

Yes, you require internet connection at the time of installation only.

14.  What support will you provide if I get some installation errors?

Our software administration team would be available to support installation between 4:30 PM– 7:30 PM every day except sunday. You will be given guidance for Software installation.

15.  Do you provide technical support w.r.t software even after the completion of the contest?

Yes

16.  Is the 4hrs training sufficient for learning the programming?

Yes. The student will understand all the basics of Roboguru and will be ready to start. Later it’s the practice to unleash the complete potential of the software.

17.  Apart from online tutorials do you provide any additional training?

No. But the students can repeatedly view online tutorials which are extremely easy to understand and good enough to start.

18.  Will this additional training be online or at your office?

Online.

19.  When is the submission dates for level-1?

May 5th 2014

20.  Do each of the team members need to pass the online test in level-1 individually ?

No, Team leader should send the result behalf of team members to mentioned email id.

21.  What if my son/daughter does not get through the level-1 online test in the first attempt, can he/she try for a second attempt?

No

22.  How will you provide the additional map in the level-2?

We will send a patch through email which should be installed on your system and would update you software automatically.

23.  Is the internet connection required to get the map in level-2?

Yes,

24.  How shall we send the programming code of level -2?

Copy the code on a word document or notepad and mail it to

25.  When is the last date for submission of level-2?

May 15th 2014

26.  Will there be any date scheduled on which the team can trail run its robot?

Yes, defined slots for team to test run their robots between May 25th – June 5th 2014

27.  Where will be the final competition is held?

Hyderabad, Venue details will be shared by end of the May 2014.

28.  For students participating from outside of Hyderabad in the competition in level 3, do you provide any accommodation facility?

No. JAY ROBOTIX can suggest good accommodation facilities available near to the venue.

29.  Does he/she need to buy a robot from Jay RObotix or can he/she buy it from anywhere else?

No condition as such. Student can get his own robot, or can buy from us or any other company.

30.  Can the students who did not qualify for the level 3 come and attend the competition or is there any admission fee?

Yes, there would be no admission fee.

31.  If the winning team has two students and both are from different schools, then in which school will the RoboLab be setup?

If such is the scenario, the way the award should be distributed to the school will be decide by the ROBOKID organizers. In such case, the award may get split.

32.  Do you provide any certification to the participants?

Yes, the participant you qualify for level 3 would get a participant certificate.

33.  How many categories of prizes will be distributed?

Cash awards in 7 categories,

Robotics lab worth 4 lacs for school(s) with maximum number of participants.
