11 - Occupies Territories – Egypt and Syria threaten to attack – Israel attacks – Israel captures large stretches of their land (Sinai Peninsula/Gaza Strip/ Golan Heights/West Bank). MOST OF HISTORIC ISRAEL IS CAPTURED
12 - Yom Kippur War (1976) – (Ramadan War or October War) As a result Israel gained Sinai Peninsula/Gaza Strip/ Golan Heights/West Bank.
13 - Yasir Arafat – Leader of the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization).
14 - PLO - Palestinian Liberation Organization – established in 1964 to represent the people of Palestine (Arabs).
15 - Intifada – ‘Arabic’ term for uprising – Palestinian campaigns directed @ Israel - 1st – 1987/2nd – September 2000.
16 - Oslo Accords – A set of mutually agreed upon general principles regarding a 5 year interim period of Palestinian self-rule.
17 - Barriers to Peace – Solve the issue of Jerusalem: Which is: Jerusalem is the capital of Israel but Palestinians insist that Jerusalem must be the capital of an eventual homeland.
