WANTED

Basic Instructions: Create a “Wanted poster” for one of the characters in Julius Caesar. You will present the poster to the class, and it will be hung in the room. It is worth one test grade: I will grade on neatness, creativity, and thoroughness.

1. Use a white poster boards as your “sign.”

2. Choose any character from the play although it is a good idea to choose a more major character, Cinna the poet is probably not a good choice since we only see him once, and then he dies immediately!

3. Just as a “real wanted sign” would have, include a picture of the character. You may cut out a picture from a magazine or draw it. Make sure it is large though. A picture smaller than your hand will look funny on such a large poster board.

The following information must be included on the poster: you may represent this information in individual sections or columns. You might even use headings for each piece of information.

1. Include the character’s name in BIG LETTERS. Include any aliases (a.k.a. Billy the Kid). If there is not an alias, make up an appropriate nickname for the character!

2. What is the character wanted for? What did he/she do in the play? You can choose any action at any time in the play. If you want to describe his/her actions from Act I or not until Act V, that is fine. Or you might just write what his/her overall role was. Whatever action you choose, I want a thorough paragraph describing his/her action or role in the play.

3. Who are his/her accomplices? Who are the character’s running buddies? If the character is a “loner,” describe why he/she is alone. The person may only have one friend or “accomplice” too.
