2. Interview Reading Comprehension:
At Country Dairy we have 4 Parlors where cows are milked. At each parlor there is a crew of people that milk the cows and do other chores like scraping the cow barns and feeding the cows. At our Montague facility we have 3 cow barns with 120 cows each and 1 cow barn with 60 cows, making it a total of 420 cows milking at that Farm. The parlor at Montague is what we call a double eight, meaning that it can hold a total of 16 cows at a time. This means that in less than 8 times of switching cows from a 120 cow barn, a milker can be done with that barn.
At Montague Farm people work 3 shifts per day, with 2 people working per shift, and each shift is 8 hours long. Normally a full time employee works 5 shifts per week (each shift being 8 hours) adding up to 40 hours per week or 80 hours per payroll. Payroll is every two weeks, with pay being available on the Friday of payroll.
Employees are expected to be on time for their shifts and are expected to learn the correct milking procedures within 2 to 3 training sessions. After that it will be expected of all employees to finish milking all the cows within their shift and also finish the other chores that are also required within that time span. After working a full calendar year as a full-time employee for Country Dairy, employees are eligible for Health Insurance, 5 days of paid vacation and can also take part in our 401k Program.
