Requests for a Concealed Damage returns should be submitted to Sony Sales along with photographs on the unit model & serial number, product damage, carton and inner package cushion (Styrofoam); Sony Service will review all requests and determine if Concealed Damage is present and will approve a return to Tech Data for credit.

3. Service ATR

a. Sony Service will approve a return to Tech Data for credit if Sony Service determines needed repair parts/exchange inventory will not be available to service a defective product within Sony Service’s guidelines.

Detailed procedures for 1 to 3 above will be provided to you prior to the May 15, 2012 policy implementation. Only products covered under Sony’s limited manufacturer’s warranty will be eligible for service.

For Sony VAIO, Tablet and Reader, Tech Data will pass through a Sony provided 1% of purchase price returns allowance in lieu of any returns. For Personal audio products Tech Data will pass through a Sony provided 0.5% of purchase price returns allowance in lieu of any returns. The returns allowances will be provided by Tech Data as a reduction in purchase price. The returns allowance reduction will already be included in the pricing visible on ExpressNet and on your invoice from Tech Data. There will not be a separate line item in ExpressNet or on your Tech Data invoice that shows details of the returns allowance deduction. You should not take an additional deduction from your invoice for this allowance since it is already deducted when you receive the invoice.

Consumer Media and Energy products are not returnable.

Returns approved after May 11, 2012 must adhere to the above policy to receive credit.

Please contact your Sony or Tech Data sales support representative if you have any questions.
