Terms and Conditions for the REDDS Stage School
1. Fees and Payments
1.1 Fees must be paid 2 weeks after the invoice
1.2 Methods of payment (preferred method of payment after registration day) – REDDS will only accept online payment/bank transfer. Please use the following account: Lloyds TSB, REDDS School, Sort Code: 30-84-20, Account number: 29893268, Reference Child’s Surname
1.3 No cash will be held on the premises
1.4 Fees are reviewed annually in September
2. Cancellation or Leaving
2.1 A student attending the stage school for the first time has the right to terminate the contract before the second session. Any fees paid over will be refunded minus £5 administration charge
2.2 Thereafter, the contract automatically continues for the remainder of the term, if a student wishes to leave during this period no refund will be given
2.3 Termination will only be accepted when received in writing by the REDDS School
3. Uniform/ Performances/Photos and Competitions
3.1 Students will be required to purchase REDDS Uniform and to wear it when representing REDSS in public and classes. Students must wear appropriate REDDS uniform to all classes.
3.2 Students must wear appropriate clothing for movement classes, e.g. Tracksuit bottoms/ jazz pants or leggings, strictly no jeans, no jewellery, hair must be tied up and t-shirts or tops must not contain inappropriate wording
3.3 Students may wish to purchase appropriate footwear such as dance trainers, ballet or tap shoes, foot thongs or gym shoes.
3.4 students will be asked to make contributions towards costumes for performances. This may take the format of REDDS supplying the costumes or the student sourcing their own costumes from retail shops
3.6 REDDS reserve the right to photograph/film students during performances or classes and use on REDDS website, Facebook page and other press related items (should you not wish your child to be photographed or filmed you must state on the essential information/registration forms. Unless stated you are giving permission for redds to use photographs or films of your child)
Competitions
3.7 Any student wishing to have choreography/songs/ or song and dance done by REDDS teachers must be doing the syllabus in that genre with Rhythm Energy Dance , Drama & Singing School. For example if you are attending REDDS ballet or REDDS contemporary classes, you may have a REDDS ballet or a contemporary solo choreographed by Erin or Jessica or if you are singing and acting you may have songs done by Ruth or acting roles done by Liam.
3.8 When entering competitions all REDDS dances must go under the studio name of Rhythm Energy Dance. Drama & Singing School wherever the competition is being held
3.9 When performing a REDDS routine at an event or competition etc, you must perform under REDDS school or seek prior permission to perform the routine from the choreographer or teacher. For example if you would like to perform a REDDS routine at your high school you must ask the permission first of the choreographer.
3.10 When REDDS is represented in the press, credit must be given to the choreographer/teacher and the school that you represent.
3.11 REDDS teachers will collaborate and change REDDS routines; this is not to be done by the students. Students are not allowed to make changes to any parts of their routines without the choreographer agreeing to this.
3.12 All REDDS choreography /songs/ or song and dance belongs to REDDS school not the student the piece was created for. REDDS has the right to rework the choreography/songs/ or song and dance and give to another student when the original student has out grown the piece.
3.13 No student is allowed to take any part of a REDDS routine/songs/ or song and dance and use it for another dance or teach the combinations to other students.
3.14 When participating in a REDDS group Dance the student must be doing the syllabus/dance class in that genre.
3.15 On completion of the choreography/songs/ or song and dance the student must pay the choreographer/teacher the total outstanding balance for the piece. Charge is to be negotiated between the choreographer/teacher and the student/parents.
3.16 Students are required to pay for hall hire for all solo, duo, trio or team pieces
3.17 Students may not enter competitions unless REDDS term fees are up to date.
4. Classes
4.1 REDDS teachers are there to provide excellent tuition in dance, drama and singing and we will do this through clear structure and discipline to the lessons. Therefore if we feel a student is being consistently disruptive then we will speak with parent/guardian.
4.2 REDDS reserve the right to exclude students from lessons at its discretion
4.3 Students participate at their own risk and are obliged to inform REDDS teachers of any existing injuries and or medical conditions
4.4 REDDS reserve the right to make changes to the timetable and to the teaching staff
4.5 REDDS will occasionally arrange workshops and special guest speakers from the performing arts industry that will incur a cost to the student, this will be done at the lowest possible amount.
4.6 REDDS advise that students do not bring any valuables to class, as REDDS can accept no liability for lost or damaged belongings
4.7 Promotional pictures and footage will be taken during classes, REDDS will require a written request if you DO NOT wish for your child to take part
4.9 The liability of REDDS and that of its staff is restricted to class time only
4.9a All material performed and learnt by the students at REDDS belong to REDDS. Any student wishing to enter talent shows, or competitions and wishes to use REDD material must ask permission first.
4.10 REDDS Teachers will continue with professional Development by attending syllabus courses and keeping up to date with latest technique and training
4.11 REDDS Teachers will hold current CRB, First Aid and insurance
4.12 Only Baby classes will admit parents being present in class. All other REDDS Classes will have a no parent policy. Parents will be provided with a waiting area and space.
5. Code of Conduct when representing REDDS at any competition or in public (5)
5.1 When representing REDDS at competitions you will act respectfully to all competitors and their teachers.
5.2 REDDS dancers will offer support and encouragement to all REDDS students especially the younger members of REDDS when competing or performing.
5.3 No negative feedback is to be given to any dancer or performer of REDDS after they have performed.
5.4 The choreographer/and or teacher is the only person allowed to critique the dance. Please no negative comments from parents
5.5 REDDS dancers are not allowed to engage in conversations with any of the competition society members or judge(s) during the competitions. REDDS will act on your behalf should we feel the need to question or query a result.
5.6 REDDS dancers must be responsible for their own music, costume and make up at competitions or performing at events, unless the choreographer has the music.
5.7 It is also the responsibility for the students to collect their own music after performing unless the choreographer is responsible for your music.
6. Fire Safety & Evacuation Procedures (6)
6.1 – REDDS School, Teachers, students and anyone associated with redds and on site at the time will abide by Shireway Community Centres’s fire evacuation policy.
6.2 – At the sound of a fire alarm, redds teachers will wear a florescent jacket, lead students to the fire evacuation safe zone and close the doors behind them.
6.3 – where possible redds teachers will ask students to leave the building carrying their shoes and put them on in the safety zone, however priority of life remains the upmost importance and evacuation without shoes will occur if deemed necessary by the teacher.
6.4 – if any redds student, teacher or anyone associated with redds becomes aware of a fire, they are to inform the teacher who will dial 999.
Any student that is unable to comply with these policies or rules of conduct will run the risk of losing their place in REDDS
