President Merklinger reminded members to go to the website and sign the petition.

Jeremy DeMar (Monroe County) reported on TERT on APCO Atlantic Chapter. APCO is working on best practices model for advancing States along in TERT readiness. TERT Facebook and Twitter pages have been developed. APCO/NENA are moving away towards classroom training towards electronically delivered training. TERT is also going to begin quarterly podcasting. Jeremy also gave report on upcoming APCO Atlantic chapter meeting in New Hampshire and Fall training initiatives October 26-29, 2014. Scholarship program

Sue delivered the current Treasurer’s report: Income $52,576.50, expenses $23, 573.71. Motion to accept by John Elliott, seconded by Steve DeChick; motion passed.

Steve Sharpe spoke on GIS and stated that Cheryl Benjamin has taken the lead on GIS issues

John Merklinger spoke on National Program 911 Office and their effort to develop minimum national training standards.

Steve Sharpe announced upcoming EMD Basic training in November (11-13) and APCO Basic in December (8-12). Cayuga, Ontario and Wayne have upcoming Powerfone training. Tompkins also has several upcoming APCO training classes.

Old Business: Awaiting reconciling financials, just working with Quicken software problems. Website is up and running and seems to be working well.

New Business: John spoke on CWIG and SCIGB meetings. John , Steve Sharpe and Bill Bleyle spoke on the 2014-2015 PSAP Sustainment grant. Members had discussion about the seven criteria used for determining distribution of funds in this grant. Partial reimbursements are acceptable for these grants. John also stated that Sheriff Gerace has provided 911 Codes, Rules in Regulations standards updates. On the topic of FirstNet, it appears that the State is going to opt in for this project. Next SCIGB is scheduled for November 2014.

NYS 911 and NYSAC are working to schedule a November 2014 meeting with the Governor’s Office. Topics of discussion are allocation of $10Million and collection of surcharges on pre-paid devices. From the November 2013, the need for a Statewide 911 Coordination Office was presented.

Spring 2015 conference will be held in Alexandria Bay and Fall 2015 Conference has been changed from Plattsburg to Albany to allow for lobbying efforts.

Ron Bloom (NENA Rep) spoke on NENA upcoming classes, conferences and encouraged NYS members to get involved on the National level.

Per Sue for the Fall 2014 Conference, 57 members and 33 vendors attended.

Mike Bradley inquired if anyone received a FOIL request from Delmar, NY for a group home matter.

John spoke a little on the LODD in the Rochester, PD.

A moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the September 11th victims.
