TASK Program 2015/2016 (NEW!!!)
Royal bay is happy to offer a Dual Credit program in partnership with Camosun College.
  • A dedicated trades program focusing on Construction, Plumbing, Electrical Sheet metal and pipe fitting
  • Students earn both High School and College credit
  • Highly successful – taught by both High School teacher and college instructor
  • Time spent on the job and at Camosun College

Level 3 – Final clean in progress
Level 2 – Final paint complete. Cleaning to start next week
Level 1 – Final paint complete. Cleaning to start next week
Dance/Music Room – Millwork installation ongoing
Theatre – Cedar wall installation ongoing.
Shops – Dust collector system complete. Floors treated and sealed. Equipment arriving on an ongoing basis.
Large Gym – Line Painting and logos ongoing.
Atrium – Ceiling and walls painted this week. Feature wood wall application started.
Exterior – Curb installation ongoing south and west parking lots.
Artificial field complete.

Academy Registration is now only online. All families who are currently in academies and want to continue in the academy must register for next year. New registration register now as well:

Soccer Academy
  • Currently 100 plus students signed up (all grades)

Dance Academy
  • Currently 80 plus students signed up (all grades)

Lacrosse Sports Performance Class.
This is a multi-grade class focused on developing lacrosse and associated skills. This is a linear course. Please contact Royal Bay Administration if you are interested.

Equine Studies 10, 11, 12
Royal Bay is happy to provide horse enthusiasts the opportunity to hone their skills, understanding and earn credits in Equine Studies. Please contact Ms. Beadall or Mr. Huck for details.
Culinary Arts
  • A full complement of culinary arts classes, ranging from Foods 9, 10 through Cafeteria Training 11 and 12 to Culinary Arts ACE-It training. All courses taught by a Red Seal trained BC qualified teacher and a qualified Kitchen Manager.

Performing Arts
  • Royal Bay has a 350 seat professional theatre with an orchestra pit.
  • Royal Bay will have a full complement of music, theatre and dance classes.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
We are really excited to be heading into summer and starting the new school year in September at Royal Bay Secondary. It has been a long two years getting to this point, but the results are well worth it – The school is beautiful. We are working hard on getting the school ready to receive your students. The staff has been hired and is really looking forward to starting a new chapter in the Sooke School District.
