Position Objective (What is to be done, why and value to business)

To provide a stable and reliable computer software service to enable the business to provide Financial Services to its client base in a fair, efficient and professional manner. The system must also deliver operational and management information and include the relevant controls/exception reports to enable the business to meet its legislative requirements.

Stable and reliable transaction processing / Efficiently handle typical insurance broking functions including:
Client management
Policy management
Claims management
Insurer management
Debtors and cash receipting processes.
Disbursements
Online enquiry functions
Premium, charges and commission calculations. / System down time no more than 2 %.
System crashes of 1 per month.
95 % of Response times less than 3 seconds.
Transaction Retention and security / Store historical transactions within the database to enable:
Auditing of processes undertaken,
Review of client and policy history
Reconciliation of financial transactions
Security of transactions protected by:
Records locked once confirmed.
Hierarchical password controls within system with functional application. / All records validly created able to be retrieved.
Auditable transaction trails and reports.
No loss of records
No unauthorised access to information or transaction systems
Production of client and insurer documentation / Production of invoices/schedules and closings to clients and insurers on a daily basis (preferably real time).
Reprint of documentation where required. / Documentation produced as required.
Accounting functions / Reconciliation support for client debtors.
Reconciliation and payment support for insurer creditors.
Exception and summary reporting on accounting transactions.
Reporting on business incomes, GST / System enable business to collect and pay monies efficiently.
Availability of reports required to meet legislative requirements.
Management information / Regular and adhoc reporting on all aspects of the business including:
