President Denise then adjourned the General Meeting to re-open the A.G.M. which was adjourned at 7.10 on 26/4/06. General Meeting resumed at 6.45 pm.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

STATUS OF WOMEN:…………….H. Hall noted that the priority was the Seniors Morning Tea and a date of 1st October was suggested so as not to clash with Pamper Day. Senior citizens have offered their rooms for the function. Suggestions for I.W.D. speaker for next year would also be appreciated.

P.R:…………………Jo Dalgleish handed out the new yearly planner.

MEMBERSHIP:…………………J. Harland asked that committee chairs remember the mentoring roster.

FUNDRAISING:………………..A. Leahy said that The Da Vinci Code has been booked for 15th June and advertising would begin on 1st June.

GENERAL BUSINESS:

BALLOT FOR NEW DIVISION BOARD

President Denise read the nominations for the various positions and voting was by a show of hands.

Vote for V Hartas as District Governor - YES.

Vote for D Hackfoord as District Lieutenant Governor - YES.

Vote for J. Beal as District Treasurer - YES.

District Nominating Committee 3 required. In order of majority of votes. - .D. Douglas, S. Mellor, N. West.

CHANGEOVER

Numbers and payment to J Dalgleish, currently 39 have accepted.

ZONTA SHIRTS

J. Loughnan told the meeting that the first order of shirts will be done on Friday, 25th May however orders will be ongoing. Please order with Jenny or Brennors.

J. Frith and D. Martin gave a short “history” of themselves during dinner.

GUEST SPEAKER

Justine Miller, Community Development Officer with the Roma Town Council spoke to us about her position and how she is available to help anyone in the community with grant submissions, publicity for events and ideas for events. She spoke a little on her background and said that she has now made Roma her home. A. Leahy thanks Justine for coming and assured her that Zonta would certainly be able to utilize her services.

President Denise thanked all members and guests for attending and making the dinner such a friendly evening. She gave an overview of Zontian International projects, Micro-credit in Niger, Neo-natal Tetanus vaccinations in Nepal, Education project in Afghanistan etc. as well as supporting local community organizations.
