2016 ZCHS Girls Soccer Parents Guidelines

The ZCHS Girls Soccer coaching staff goal is to foster and build good relationships with all of the parents involved in our program. We believe that parents are the greatest ambassadors for our school and we want to have open communication with all of you in order to create and maintain positive relationships for everyone involved. The entire coaching staff is committed to provide the best, most knowledgeable and safest environment for your daughter to enjoy her athletic participation and we need your help in order to achieve this.

Our job as coaches is to make tough decisions in regards to playing time, team formation and appropriate discipline. ZCHS coaches are professionals and parents must trust that all coaching decisions are made for the benefit of our players and teams. In an effort to create a baseline for parent’s expectations we have created the following set of guidelines that we are asking for your cooperation in adhering to:

  1. Playing time is not a discussible item. Parents are asked to refrain from addressing coaches, your own daughter, other team players, or other parents about playing time. You may not agree with the coaches’ decisions, but “parental coaching” during and/or after games confuses and distracts the players and shows disrespect for the coaches
  1. Practices are closed. Parents/siblings/fans are asked to refrain from attending any open practices. This is done to prevent any potential problems with players/coaches.
  1. Parents are asked to behave properly on the standsduring games. Abuse against ZCHS players/fans, opposing team players/fans, and referees will not be tolerated. We expect all of our parents to behave the same way our players do, positively. Parents who fail to behave properly will be asked to leave the playing field.
  1. Parents are asked to obey a mandatory 24 hour “cooling off period” in situations where they disagree with a coaching decision. This is done in order to protect everyone involved. The ZCHS coaching staff will refrain from communicating with any parents until 24 hours have passed after a game.
  1. Parents are asked to contact ZCHS Athletic Director Greg Schelhasein case there are any issues with any member of the coaching staff. Please address your concerns with him directly as he is responsible for all high school coaches.
  1. Parents need to communicate to coaches in advance if their daughter will miss an established practicedue to illness, school related matters or any other circumstance. This communication must take place with as much advance as possible. Remember practice is mandatory with exception of emergency situations. No last minute texts!
  1. Parents are responsible that all of the following documents are on file at the ZCHS athletic office in order to be allowed to play/practice:
  2. An I.H.S.A.A. Physical Form
  3. A signed Medical Release form.
  4. A signed code of Conduct form.
  5. Impact Test
  6. Participation Fee
  1. Parents understand that all school issued uniforms and equipment must be kept in good condition and returnedat the end of the season. Any items not returned at season’s end due to being lost, damaged, etc. will be charged to the player’s family as a replacement cost.
  1. Parents are asked and are encouraged to give their time in assisting the soccer program during the season. This includes duties such as concessions, hospitality rooms, scoring, ticket taking, tournament events, etc.
  1. Parents are encouraged to communicate with ZCHS coaching staff in any and all non-soccer playing related matters. We are here to help you and your daughter in case there is need to address any non-soccer related issues.

2016 ZCHS Girls Soccer Player’s Guidelines
