Ecoscenario Project Guidelines
Presentation: Your group will need to assign each person a category to research. After researching your ecosystem category, each person can choose their preferred app to display the required information. Each person will email the group’s leader a screen shot of their work to be put in the keynote presentation. Your group will use the presentation to tell the story of your ecosystem to the class.
Your final presentation needs to be done in Keynote and include:
Title and Description3pts / *Briefly describe the ecosystem. (1pt)
*Tell or show where the ecosystem is. (1pt)
*Mention similar ecosystems in other places on Earth. (1pt)
Food Web
5pts / Develop a food web of the most important organisms.
*Include at least three producers and their consumers in your food web. (1pt)
*Color-code them so that producers are green and consumers are red. (1pt)
*Include at least 10 organisms, but no more than 15. (1pt)
*Draw arrows to show which organisms eat which others. (2pts)
Adaptation
5pts / Pick two organisms from your food web to discuss their adaptations.
*Explain what the adaptation is and if it is structural or behavioral. (3pts)
*Explain how the adaptation helps the organism survive. (2pts)
Abiotic Factors
5pts / *Identify two or three abiotic factors that define your ecosystem (2pts)
* Describe how these abiotic factors influence the ecosystem. (Hint: look for information about changing water levels, temperature, light levels, salinity, pollution, etc.) (3pts)
Human Impact
5pts / *Identify an issue arising from human impact in your ecosystem. (Hint: Look for information about building, logging, diverting freshwater, hunting, or anything else humans do that affects nature.) (1pt)
*Describe the effect of humans on the populations in your ecosystem. (2pts)
*Discuss possible actions that could be taken to reduce the impact. (2pts)
Work Cited
2pts / The last page of your keynote needs to list each website you gathered information from. (2pts)
