Instructions for Use of the Thomas Jefferson University Online Financial Interest Disclosure System
IMPORTANT NOTICE:Due to recent changes in federal regulations and TJU Policy, selecting the Roll-Up Option to complete your disclosure will not result in automatic population of certain data fields. You must enter the “Approximate Annual Income,” “Value of Stock,” or “Ownership” fields when completing Question 5 of the Entities Page.
- Go to the Jefferson Pulse site: Go to the PeopleSoft sign in site: log in using your Campus Key and Password (password is the same one you log in with every day).
- If you use a MAC computer, you will need to access Pulse via your Safari browser. Just go to the TJU homepage and click on Pulse which is listed at the top of the page above the words “Thomas Jefferson University.”
- If you are off campus or abroad, you can access PeopleSoft via thislink

- Click on Main Menu appear on the left. Click “Conflicts of Interest.” Then click “Conflicts of Interest Self Svc.”
- Click on the tab marked “Create a New Disclosure” and enter your information.
- If you checked “No” to Questions 2 and 3, Click the “Save” button. Click “OK.” This brings you back to the page entitled “Your Disclosures of Significant Financial Interests & Activities Index.” Scroll down and click the “Go to Submit Disclosure Page” button. Read the certification, and click the “Submit” button and click “OK” to complete the process. You can exit the online system at this time. You will receive an e-mail verification to confirm that your Disclosure has been submitted.
- If you checked “Yes” to either Question 2 or Question 3, you will have to create an appendix entry for every entity with which you or your immediate family have a relationship and any relevant interest or relationship if no entity is applicable. Click the “Save” button. Click “OK”. This brings you to the page entitled “Disclosures of Conflict of Interest-Appendix Index.”
a)If you are a first-time user, click the “Add an Entity, Interest, or Relationship Button” and fill in the requested information. You will need to “Add an Entity or Interest” for every entity with which you or your immediate family have a relationship and any relevant interest or relationship if no entity is applicable.
b)If you are a returning user, you will see your prior entity entries listed by disclosure year. You will now be entering information for disclosure year the past year up to and until the current date. Some of the entity information you entered last year can be automatically carried forward for your convenience and then edited as required. You will see a buttonnext to the entities you entered last year called “Roll Up to 2012.” If this relationship still exists, click on the “Roll Up to 2012” button. After you click the “Roll Up to 2012” button, you will need to click the “Edit” button that now appears next to the entity. Note that “rolling up” does not complete the process. You must enter financial interest information and update any other details that changed from the prior year. When finished, click the “Save” button. Click “OK.” This will return you to the “Return to Disclosures of Significant Financial Interests and Activities Index” page. To add additional new relationships with other entities, scroll down the page and click on the “Add an Entity, Interest or Relationship” button and follow the same procedure.
If you or your immediate family no longer have a relationship with an entity that you or your immediate family had a relationship with in the preceding year, do not click the “Roll Up to 2012” button next to that entity and it will not be carried forward.
- Save your information: Please remember to save your information by pressing the “Save” button. Saving your entries will give you the opportunity to return to your Disclosure later and resume completion.
- When you are finished entering all your information, click “Save,” click “OK,” and scroll down and click on the “Go to Disclosure Index” link to return to the page entitled “Your Disclosure of Significant Financial Interests and Activities Index.”
- To submit your Disclosure, click on “Go to Submit Disclosure Page,” read the certification and click the “Submit” button and then click “OK” to complete the process. You will receive an e-mail verification to confirm that your Disclosure has been submitted.
- If you do not receive your email verification, your disclosure was not submitted. Go back into Pulse. Follow directions 1 through 4 (listed above) and check to see that your 2012 Disclosure is listed as “View Only.”
- If your current Disclosure is not listed as “View Only,” click on the “Go to Submit Disclosure Page” button and complete the process.
